Not compassionate towards veterans with Dementia

I came in and explained my situation about my uncle (who is a retired veteran)and how he is living with a women that yells at him and gets in his face. He has Dementia you all knows that dementia has mood swings. I filled out paperwork they took my deposit $2,000 showed me his room he would be in. Thye asked for medical information on him the only thing I could provide at that time was a mental evaluation of a one time incident he had, which the judge for the city of Taylorsville aplogized for the city and said he should have never been sent to a mental facility. He stayed there for a couple of weeks and this one time menat doctor said all kins of gestures that were not true. Patriots landing based refusing him to live there because on that on paper I PROVIDED to them. They never asked for his medical treatment records from his primary care provider. the director refused him to live there, by saying she doesn't want him to disrupt what they have going on there. I think it's sad that the facility represents helping the veterans. NOT TRUE! NOw I have to put him in a facility furthur away from me. Never even given a chance. Yes, and I agree they are way too expensive and the place I am putting him into is way more veteran friendly. I showed them the same paperwork and they welcomed him with open arms. The place is Bonaventure in Lacey and more friendlier and the place is no comparison, much more cleaner/beautiful. Definately not over priced for what they offer compared to others!

My Experience

I found the place neat and clean. The staff was friendly, even offered my mom a wheelchair if the walk was to much. Oh and the dinner we had. Well let's just say i will be joining mom alot for dinner.

OVERATED AND OVERPRICED

ALL THR ADD,S CONCERNING THIS RETIREMENT COMUNITY SHOULD BE LOOKED AT WITH A SKEPTICAL EYE. FOR THE SERVICES RECIEVED ARE TO SAY THE LEAST ARE MINIMAL TO THINK WHEN ONE GOES TO THE DINING ROOM FOR BREAKFAST,ONE WOULD EXPECT TO HAVE THE WASTE COINTAINERS EMPTIED. THIS DOES NOT ACTUALLY HAPPENS,IF YOU ARE LUCKY IF THEY ARE EMPTIED BY NOON. THE MENU IS AS PROGRESSIVE AS CLOUDLESS SKY. I HAVE SEEN BETTER VARIATIONS AT MC DONALD'S. SOME OF THE STAFF ARE WARM AND FRIENDLY SOME ARE AS COLD AS AN ARTIC WIND. THIS ESPECIALY TRUE AT THE RECEPTION DESK. DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS.
