BEWARE GAS/OIL WORKERS!!! DO NOT RENT HERE!!! This is the WORST housing EVER!!! Property manager/Staff is rude and uneducated. There is a bug problem and everything falls apart. Then they accuse you of things that you didn't do. I am glad to be out of this so called luxury apartment. There is NOTHING luxury about this apartment. Plus.... The price is just ridiculous!! Save yourself the headache and money. DON'T RENT HERE!

I had accepted a new teaching job in the area and lived at Heritage Village for a couple months. I have to say it was the absolute worst housing I have ever experienced!! At first glance it looked great and seemed safe and welcoming. However, I would soon find the mangement made it unbearable to live there.



I lived above the property manager and was soon accused for absurb actions such as "heavy walking", "stomping", and "running" through the apartment. To this day I'm still not sure what exactly "heavy walking" is, but I can assure it was not happening. She also complained of "slamming cupboard and bathroom doors". These were nothing outside of normal living noises. I feel the construction of the apartments is very poor and because of that noise travels more than it should.



After feeling like I was not comfortable or welcome in my own apartment, I decided my only option was the break my lease and move out. While this caused me to lose my deposit, it was worth every penny to be happy and feel comfortable in my new home.



THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:

1. Management

2. 13 page lease that includes LOTS of restrictions (ex: quiet hours (9pm-9am) in which you aren't supposed to run appliances (wash clothes, vacuum, hair dryer)

3. I feel the apartments are WAY overpriced!!

4. Quality of the apartments is not what it appears

5. Move out costs with no itemized list to show what the money was going towards



Overall, I would not recommend Hertiage Village to ANYONE looking for an apartment. Shop around the area and you will save yourself a lot of money and headaches!!

We lived here for almost 4 years. The first 3 years were enjoyable, even though the apartments are way overpriced for the area. Management turnover has always been an issue, but we never really had an issue till recently.



Pros:

Well kept landscaping

Allow large dogs

Nice location



Cons:

New management is absolutely awful

WAY OVERPRICED!

Mercury thermostats

Old/broken appliances

Carpeting in the bathrooms and kitchen



Other thoughts:

We had planned on staying here another couple years. However, the new management has us looking elsewhere. I had heard 5 or 6 complaints from my neighbors regarding the new manager, before I had even met her. Normally, I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, the first interaction with her was unpleasant, to say the least. She was harshly rude, almost like she had a grudge against me.



I started to watch her interactions with other tenants, and realized that this was just how she treated people. It's possible she has a mental disorder, and if that's the case, I truly feel sorry for her. However, this type of person should not be in a management position.



I lost 3 long term neighbors just over the past year. These were tenants that were here before we moved in. (They were here for over 4 years) The maintenance staff is terrified of the new manager. After talking with a couple of the workers, I found out that she was fired from her 2 previous employments with a management company in Columbus and another in Akron. All of this since 2008.



Until new management is put in place, I must forewarn everyone to look elsewhere.
