I just got a post about my recent visit buying diesel. The man working there this morning was apparently Marshall Culpepper.
When I got fuel, I quietly and nicely mentioned to Mr. Culpepper that I was not picking with him, just wanted him to pass a message on to the manager or owner.
I told him the diesel pump took 20 minutes to pump about 17 gallons of fuel, and it kicked off at an even $50.
Apparently Mr Culpepper didn't know that his machine was set to kick off at $50, and told me my debt card probably was insufficient to get more fuel.
I patiently explained to the man that often when I filled up I would get $400 to $500 worth of fuel, and I had used the card for recently and knew the limit was much more than that.
Culpepper replied "we have BIG customers that come in here and buy a thousand dollars worth of fuel." Maybe the tanks ran out.
I said, "Look, I just ask that you pass the message on to the boss or manager because a $50 limit on diesel is not reasonable.
He starts again with the line about my card being the problem.
I walked out. There were customers in line behind me.
As I was walking to my truck, Culpepper came outside and began yelling at me. He said I was rude, and on and on. I turned and said again, "I just asked that you pass the message on". He continues to yell, and I said "Now I know why you have this job". As he continued to yell, I started laughing at the ridiculous nature of the man, and I walked on to my truck still laughing, as he continued to yell.
