We live at this course in Victory Lakes, Has a lot of potential. However owner and management could use an overhaul, They claim the lights are broken when there is not enough people to leave them on. I always ask if they will be leaving the lights on? I under stand that they are expensive to run, but the answer is always yes. So they shut them off during your game and claim they are broke. This happens VERY often. I work all day like most and try to get in where i can, So i try again saturday in the morning only to have them mowing during play. The people that live here at Victory Lakes and Beacon are now seeking other courses locally and hoping the home course can recieve a management overhaul. Mike, the golf pro is the only thing they have going for them.

Beacon could be a decent golf course, but it is poorly managed.. There's been serval intances where they were mowing everthing on Saturday morning during prime time, the greens arent rolled or mowed, there's no Marshall, they hardly ever rake the bunkers, the owner seems to always have a bad attitude .... And I would be ok with all of that if it wasn't so over priced...

i like this place. i've only been playing for a couple months and i've had no problem at beacon lakes. i went on a thursday evening and saturday morning and had a lot of fun with no issues. if i remember correctly, i think their snack bar is a little pricey.

Very unhappy with the way the owner handled my expired $40 dollar gift certificate that I thought I had lost. Rude and callus. Poor PR!

TEE TIME / MARSHALL

Golf course was near where I live. Course when we came in to get info on couse the week before they had none! Didn't even have a map of the course. Luck would have it we got one off the web. If anyone is going to play this course. *****RECOMENDATION***** Download the course map online. If you don't you'll be running all over the place to figure out where the heck your next fairway will be located. If your familiar with it ignore what I said.

We get there and our Tee time was a Noon. No Carts. We had to wait for 30 mins before someone came out and put a cart in front of us.

This place you can't bring your own food. Expect to pay $1.75 for a can of coke. $.75 for 6 crackers. Makes me feel like I'm going to the Relient Staidum and buying a $10.00 Coke. Rip off!!!

Anyway, we finally got to tee off and the first 2 holes were great till we get this Marshall of the golf course fallowing us. Said we were going to slow and that we needed to spead up and play from the Red Box. Funny thing is that we were playing from the Red Box as we had a lady and kid with us. We said okay. Two more holes the same dude comes up and says the same thing. That thru two of our games off as now it seemed we had to rush. We paid good money to play there with 4 people.

There wasn't anyone behind us and there was one party we kept catching up to in front of us walking the course. I guess people who walk this course you need to run when you play!!

This was getting me pissed off and I wasn't enjoying the game anymore. I said if he came up to me one more time I wasn't going to let him have it. He got it good too. He tried to tell us where a good course was in Alvin. I said I wasn't playing Alvin I was playing here trying to enjoy my time, but each time you interupt us playing that messed up everyone's game. I think the club should be a Membership Club as that's how they run it. Not a public club as some of us are out there to enjoy a good game of golf and not have people come in and just interupt our game. It's uncalled for to do that. Would you yell at Tiger Woods and say dude you need to pick up your pace. Nope you would not.

The Driving range doesn't have markers to tell you how far you've hit the ball. It would be nice to see signs out there saying 150 / 200 yards, etc. All you got are white flags and that's about it. I've played better places than this that have their fairways on their score cards. I would not recommend this course.

ANTS!

Ladies watch out for the ants on the Tee Boxes. The lady we were with didn't see one mound and was covered with them. We had to knock them off. She didn't get bit, but when we saw the marshall all he had to say is if you tell me how to kill them I will. With Ant Poision. That shows you they don't care about their customers.
