My trans was slipping and I took it in, he said it might last awhile so I took it home. A week later it wouldn't drive so they towed it in... And they paid for the tow since the trans needed to be rebuilt. They did this at a fair price and great turn around time! My husband (who is the primary driver) noticed it wasn't driving right. I took it back and they said all cars need an alignment after but they don't do that. They could refer me to a place to get one for $90. I told them I was upset no one told me that when I asked for the cost and cost breakdown! Oh, and I had a wheel bearing going bad (also something I asked them to check out a couple weeks ago when the fixed the transmission that they said was fine). That would cost $340. I called my regular repair shop who could have the alignment and wheel bearing done in two hours for $250. Independent said they are usually more expensive than other places for this type of repair because it's not what they usually do. However, $180 difference between those repairs is price gouging. Finally, when I got to my repair shop they inspected my car and said the wheel bearing was the least of my problems, the ball joints were bad, so bad that he could push back and forth on my tire and I could see the movement from the other side of the shop! I still think they independent can do good, fast trans work, but they are NOT thorough and price gouge on non-trans fixes.

Not even a one star review is worthy of this establishment! If there was a way to give a lower rating I would!! The owner is Rude, belligerent with a very bad attitude!



The only reason I went here is because they advertise on WMUZ a Christian Radio Station. So I assumed they were a TRUSTWORTHY establishment!



I took my daughters car to here to get brakes on her Chevy Aveo. He quoted us $400 for brakes and rotors. I said to go ahead and fix it. When they were done I looked at the trims and rims, I noticed ALL 4 rims were scratched and scraped up!!!! I asked what the ____ happened??!!! The owner stated, when they took off the tires they layed the tires down with the rims facing the cement and then dragged them inside the shop to close the door and they got ruined! Are you kiddin me??!!!! He acted like, No big deal.

I told the owner he should pay me to get the rims fixed or to replace them with new or used ones that weren't ruined, he refused. I then refused to pay unless he compensated us for the loss of the rims. The owner became VERY, VERY Rude and belligerent!! I told him he should be paying me for the brakes after he just caused $400 worth of damage to the RIMS!!! This guy is such a scum bag!!



the police got called, I filed a Police report.. He should of took 1/2 off or paid for new rims or done something for the damage they done!!



The owner is just praying on the people by advertising on WMUZ.



BEWARE!! PLEASE, take my advice. DO NOT GO HERE!

Just went to Independent and cannot thank them enough. Had a problem with my 91 Cherokee, they got me back on the road with minor cost. Thank God for Independent Transmission.

I drove a long way to this place as it was highly recommended and now I know why. They didn't try to up sell me anything, they were honest and charged way less than what I thought. I appreciate a company that still knows what real service is all about.

I had the misfortune to experience clutch problems and money problems at the same time and was thrilled and shocked to discover that these folks will actually work with you on payment!! Not only that, they did everything they said they would and MORE, delivered my vehicle on time -- and are extremely nice and great to work with. I have trusted all of my repair work to them ever since and recommend them to everyone!!!!!
