Food was amazing and service was totally amazing too. We will definitely be back. The filet mignon melted in your mouth. The fried rice was the best I’ve ever had. The kids said the chicken and shrimp was awesome too. Everything was amazing. The guy cooking was super fun too and put on a good show. Also our server didn’t let our drinks get down past a couple of inches before he filled them back up.
Also the place was nice and super clean.

NOT KIND TO (vegan/vegetarian) CUSTOMERS. HARASSED BY HIBACHI COOK. FOOD BAD.



My husband and I went for our two year wedding anniversary, and we left livid. I myself am vegan, whereas my husband is mostly pescatarian, and we love Japanese food. We have never had an issue anywhere until we tried Osaka's restaurant.



First, aside from my being harassed by a man I've never met before, who's only job is to cook the food I paid an OBSCENE amount for ($55 for two hiachi meals? Way better places around the area than Osaka)...

THE FOOD WAS BAD.

-Drenched the rice in soy sauce

-Soaked everything he cooked in tons of butter and oil

-Shrimp was undercooked/bad? Hubby says it tasted like dirty water...? To which he then had a terrible stomach ache the rest of the night.

-Noodles were greasy and tasted... different

-Salad was drowning in ginger sauce, to the point where it was inedible.



I asked for steamed rice instead of fried rice, and my request was ignored. Second, my husband found a huge hair in his shrimp??? Next, as the cook was serving out the main dish (i.e. for my husband, it was shrimp), and I told him I wasn't going to pick off my husband's plate for his shrimp, he noticed my order was just veggies. He then continued to harass me about how I "should eat cows because they're vegetarians" and "if (I) eat cows, I'm just eating vegetables, since they're vegetarians". He continued to laugh and make jokes at my expense even after he surely noticed I wasn't laughing and was just staring at him in disbelief, shaking from anger. He went on still, after a couple minute break (when I thought he was done...) to CONTINUE TO HARASS ME for my lifestyle... "you won't eat a cow, but you'll drink their milk?" He didn't have any smart comments after I told him I don't, in fact, drink cow's milk.



In the end, after all his taunts, he would not stop until I actually glared at him... but even then he just laughed and gave a half-assed apology ("Oh. Sorry, ma'am. I was just joking"). NEVER... have I felt so uncomfortable and alienated in a restaurant before. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Not only was the food mediocre, but the service was down-right DISRESPECTFUL.

Lunch @ Osaka 10/27/13

I am a life long resident of Destin & a huge fan of Osaka Japanese Steak House. I took my mother there today for her 81st birthday & I was shocked at the service we received. I normally would not complain however the food was not good either. I am very disappointed in Osaka; when they first opened up they were the most awesome restaurant in town & my favorite but something has changed. I hope they get things back in order soon. We were the only patrons in the restaurant & I had to get up & ask to have our teas refilled by the waitress & then on top of that they added gratuity to our tickets; sounds like they expected not to get a good tip.Very unhappy Destin resident!!!

Horrible! Bad sushi, bad customer service, bad manager

Wish I could give zero stars! My husband and I placed a to go order while on vacation from Tampa on Saturday May 25th. I ordered a tempura and far east roll. What I got was a roll with only the seafood (piece of shrimp and imitation crab). None of the other items which were supposed to be on them were. Tempura roll  was only a piece of fried shrimp. The far east only had a piece of imitation crab meat and shrimp. To top it off the shrimp I'm guessing were not deveined as there were really thick hard black pieces if something in all of them( not what the usual veins look like) It was about half the size of a pencil eraser.  I called that night and complained to the manager Linda or Laura can't remember which it was as I hope to forget the whole experience  and she said that I could come back in and she would correct the situation. I didn't feel like making the half hour trip at 10pm while having a migraine. So before our drive home on Monday night we stopped by so i could go in and request a refund. I didnt eat any of the food.....I ended up eating strawberry wheaties for dinner that night. I decided I wanted to pass on the mysterious hard black pieces in the shrimp and ask for a refund.. When I walked in there was no one to greet me at the front desk. I had to search around for someone. Then found a gentleman whom I asked for the manager and he said he would get her. Then he quickly got distracted by another employee and never fot her. I had to go to the front bar tender and ask for her and she finally came out. When she began speaking with me another female employee waled up and handed her the phone to take a phone order. I wasited then when she got off the phone a couple entered and she seated them. Then came back and said "what did you need". I politely introduced myself and explained I called last night and since we were about to take a 6.5 hour drive back to Tampa I asked for a refund and she said she couldn't refund from the previous night. She stated there was nothing she could do.... I had a horrible experience and even worse nothing was done to fix it and the manager was very rude. Worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!  Â

Poor service

poor service, I mentioned that the portions were way smaller than the last time we were there and I heard only silence in response..food is overcooked and low quality (you can buy the same seaweed salad in Publix actually, no difference)..If you want to spend your money-go somewhere else and enjoy your dinner. This place used to be better, unfortunately not anymore.

I spent 5yrs in Japan while in the military and feel in love with the cusine. I was so excited to find this restuarant and thought it would be great seeing as to how the parking lot is always full and reservation are usually needed. The miso soup was chicken broth with spaghetti noodles, not remotly close to what it should be. The so called yakisoba was also spaghetti noodles ( belive me I can tell the difference between the color, texture, and taste) with no vegtables added or a yakiasoba sauce. As for the rolls they where high priced for imitation crab meat. For goodness sake we live where there is an abundance of fresh seafood. Come on now! Everything else was so bland that I dumped hot sauce and soy sauce all over. Not worth the price nor the wait. You can do better at home with a cookbook.

Japanese Cuisine at its finest!!

This place is very nice, a little pricey, but the food and service is well worth it!! I was very satisfied when i walked out. The chefs are very friendly and always willing to give you their best. If your in the mood for suishi, definitely check this place out!
