The Northglenn Police Patrol Division is the largest division in the police department. Patrol provides first response to all emergencies and traffic accidents, performs preliminary investigations and provides basic patrol services that include traffic enforcement and other community needs for the residents of Northglenn, Colo. Each division supports sections and units that have related functions and/or mutually supportive relationships. The department is organized and staffed to support rapid assessment and response to community problems. Most field decision-making passes through just two layers. Major decisions that require the chief executive's approval pass through just three layers. This supports the CPOP philosophy of employee empowerment allowing decision-making at the lowest level possible.
