Bad Food!

This past Friday, my Daughter, Grandson and myself went there sometime between 6:30 and 7:pm for dinner and we have been frequent visitors there as it's only 0.7 mi and about a 3 minute drive from my house so it used to be a good place to go and eat and we had done so for quite a few years.

That is until new owners took over, everything seemed to change and not for the better!!!!

At this past evening's meal I ordered what I usually order, Menudo, of which at times I would just order out when I went by myself. I had happen to notice a bit of a different taste when I would get home to eat and even had to warm up the meal because it was cold.

Anyway the meal this past Friday during eating the meal I happened to again notice a different taste and eventually towards the end of finishing it I also noticed a sour taste to it but since I hate to waste food so I ate it all. Wrong!!!! Later that evening I began to have some serious heartburn which lasted the rest of the evening and most of the night and most of the next day. Had no appetite at all but forced myself to go out and get a Hearty Sandwich from a local Italian Restaurant so that hopefully the bread would help in settling my stomach which was not feeling good at all because of the amount of antacids I had to take to try and settle my stomach.

Upon getting to the Italian Restaurant to pick up my Sandwich the Owner's Daughter, of which I know both as I also frequent there once in a while, I began to mention to her about how I was doing, she asked, and I told her about the situation I had had with the food from La Cocinita and she told me that her and her Grandmother had had a similar situation there as well and that they won't go there anymore.

She mentioned that they were also long time visitors there from before new owners took over but they also noticed that things had changed there and that the food tasted like it had been warmed over in a microwave so they don't go there anymore. She also recommended another restaurant, also in a similar vicinity, where they enjoy the food much better and prices are much more reasonable there than at La Concinita where they noticed the increase after the new owners took over.

Even the wait staff seems to be deserting as most times that I had been there to pickup an order there seemed to be someone new. Not that the old staff all left at the same time they just seemed to gradually not be there each time I went there.

By the way I'm orginally from Texas so eating Menudo was fairly frequent during my growing up years there so I know the taste of it fairly well but lately the taste of it at La Cocinita changed and it is not as good as before.

So with that in mind I, nor any of my Family, will be going there to eat and we'll be going to the Mexican Restaurant that the Daughter of the Owner of the Italian Restaurant recommended from now on, which is too bad because the previous owners and most likely cooks had a good thing going there at that time.

After reading the reviews, I was hoping I had found a good Mexican restaurant. What a disappointment! The food was marginal, so thinking it may be a fluke, I went back a second time and it was just as bad. I won't be back a third time!
