I love this Clinic! The staff and the doctors have treated my animals for years. Recently we had a farm emergency we had to pull a calf the clinic was closing and they were on their way out but my cow could not wait we pulled her she was in trauma and shock I called and told them the situation they left medicine for me to give the cow and the calf. They both were saved. I also have several sickly dogs that I have rescued they have pulled them through many medical scares. I will not use any other vet. Thank you for being the caring people that you are.

Ive not as of yet tried the services"tThis is in reply to Corinne K.'s complaint she made regarding her newly neutered dog's service that you received. I worked as a vet tech for 12 years and so you and others are aware, the cone collars (Elizabethian Collars) that ar s $20 at Tractor Supply and a lot more at Pet Smart and vet clinics which do provide them with their patients surgeries when required, so why I'm explaining this is because I truly feel you made a huge deal about much to do about nothing! My advice is, do your homework when taking your fur babies for medical attention. If the prices are much less then 89% of most Vet Clinic's in our area, then you might want to ask what that price exactly involved in each service.

This is Decatur Vet which was ...

This is Decatur Vet which was recommended by a neighbor as being low cost with a good experience. It was at least a 30 minute drive for me but they were a lot less expensive than my regular vet. I have to drive at least 12-15 miles to get to any vet.

My horse has a cut on her leg about an inch above the hoof. The vet I took her to first charged me $89 for an exam and bandage, (no x-ray). They wanted me to bring her back in ten days and put a $300 cast on her. I sought a second opinion.

Dr. Robin Woller,, voted best vet in Wyse County was the vet I drew. She sought a second opinion from another vet and decided that a longer bandage to help immobilize the leg and ankle would be better than a cast. The exam and bandage was $32.50.

If you are looking for a fancy vet office where they have first class facilities and never let you leave for less than $100 this is the wrong place. It's not real fancy but they seem to do a good job and the price was right. They told me they don't take appointments so I called ahead to make sure they weren't too backed up. I think they saw me within 30 minutes of arriving. It appears they have up to four vets working at the facility.

This was my first visit but I'll be back. I spend a couple thousand a year or more on vets, medicines and vaccinations so I don't spend more than I need to although I'm willing to pay a little extra for good service, (not a lot.) According to the plaques in their office they were recently voted the best clinic in Wise County so they can't be all bad.

Do NOT go to this clinic. Low prices, but poor quality and service.

When I picked up my dog from being neutered he had no cone on. The woman who brought him out said he wasn't licking it - he licked it the second we got in the car. 2nd and 3rd opinions from other vets say this is "unsophisticated work." My dog's surgical site became infected 19 days after surgery. When I called I spoke to a condescending and unhelpful front desk clerk. Their work/service is terrible and I will be going to a different clinic to take care of my dog.

Never going to another clinic again

I brought my dog(boxer) at 10 in the morning turns out to be he needed emergency surgery he had ate a sock and got stuck in the intestines I was waiting for at least 20 min and then the staff took me into the back 20 min later they did x-Rays on my dog and within 1 1/2 they had token my dog into surgery I left and within 1 hour of leaving they called me and let me know that my jeter was ok and he was getting fluids. The staff was so helpful and wonderful. Also it did not cost me a leg and a arm to get surgery done. I had gone to hulen emergency hospital and they were going to charge me 2000-3000 for surgery only and with this clinic maximum 400.00 with overnight stay. I am so happy that I found this clinic. I don't know what I would have done.

Brought our dog in after being impaled on a tree limb at the lake---when we picked her up the wound was not clean, leaking, and a 4-inch hole was held together with 3 staples. No pain meds, and had to take her into another vet by the same evening due to the smell of the wound. The other vet had to clean out stick debris, cut out an extra inch of dead rotting tissue, and put in 2 layers of stitches. He was appalled that she'd been sent home with a weak antibiotic and no pain meds!

WARNING!

We adopted a puppy from the local shelter...we took them to the Decatur Vet Clinic to get a look over...they said that since she came from the shelter, that she had distemper! She wasn't showing any symptoms or anything! I have been to the shelter many times, and they had some kennel cough in there. We decided to get a 2nd opinion so we went to a more expensive vet. They diagnosed our girl with kennel cough and the start of kennel pneumonia...they gave her some breathing treatments, and some strong antibiotics and she is now doing just fine! I found out from some friends of ours that they had heard the same thing from the Decatur Vet, they said that just because their dog came from the shelter that it had distemper. They didn't do any tests to prove that it was distemper...What if we had listened to them and had to put the puppy down...I'm so glad we went to another vet, it's worth the extra cost to know that we are getting accurate information and GREAT treatment for our new baby....NEVER EVER GO TO DECATUR VET CLINIC!!!
