Service was horrible I took my daughter there for starter dreadlocks they charge me 80 bucks and her locks were a mess I could've done that in my kitchen my daughter cried she was very disappointed and displeased and they wouldn't fix it and told me I had to pay another 80 dollars to get it done over SMH .....we had to get it done properly somewhere else I'm done with them poor, poor customer service.

They have horrible customer skills and communication skills. Only one of them can speak English and even her communication skills were horrible. I wasn't even planning on doing my hair there at first but the person that was supposed to do my hair at another salon was sick and had to cancel. So as a last minute effort to get my hair done that same day, I went to Mai's and now I regret it. The owner combed my hair before another employee braided my hair. She brushed my hair too harsh (I'm going natural) I almost cried. I'm so glad she wasn't the one to do my actually braids because I would have an an headache for a month. They all talked in their native language the whole time in such a way that made the customers feel uncomfortable, and they made my braids too big. I called them to see if I can come in to fix some of my braids after less than two weeks and they said yes. When I got there, they acted like they were not expecting me and had me waiting for a while. Then the owner said they won't fix my braids for free after returning less than two weeks after my appointment (as advertised). I felt the way the owner spoke to me was very rude (because I asked them to fix my braids) so I just left the shop. If you decide to go there just hope that all your hair/edges doesn't fall out after you take out the braids. I'm giving them two stars because I actually thought the person that braided my hair was the only decent person at that salon.

Outside of the one stylist that can speak english, the customer is below par. Their is a certain stylist there who is rough on your hair and is average with her attention to detail. When i made my appointment (same day) i arrived clueless to who i'd ask for, no one was even attentive in helping me at first. Mind you I'm not from the area nor am i familiar with the staff. After arrival, the stylist noticed that i was natural and told me that i shouldn't get my preferred style since hair would stick out of the senegalese twist. They then tried to have me get some larger twist done with kinky hair. After i opted to get what i wanted regardless, the stylist gave me a blow dryer and had me dry my hair afterwards she followed up with more drying to then start the twist. Her techniques of twisting constantly pulled my hair causing me to move towards the braider to avoid breakage. I will NEVER go to this salon again. The women here do not have healthy hair themselves and neither do they promote it with their customers. Although my twist LOOKED nice at the end, it is clear that this is a typical braid shop that can have a client hairless. I will be maintaining my hair with oils and etc however i may end up taking these twist down sooner than i orignally planned.

I had an appointment for 8 and they were there before me. She started on me right away. As more customers came in, I switched braiders. One started the twists and the other finished them. It took a total of nine hours for my senegalese twists but my hair is fairly thick and long so that's pretty reasonable.

I didn't even go because the customer service on the phone was horrible and you could clearly hear their children in the background...

They do a great job braiding and Mai is really fast. Some of the other stylists are very rude and unprofessional. She was on and off her cellphone and she braids slow.Another issue would be that they are late and don't start on time so beware you won't be in a chair the time you scheduled to be.
