The Davis church of Christ (established in 1946) is part of the same New Testament church that Christ established on the first Pentecost after His resurrection. Christ has a unique relationship with the church. He is recognized as the only head of the church, and all authority is attributed to Him. He purchased it with His blood. Only His church is subject to Him, and He is its Savior. The church is His elect by virtue of hearing the gospel, loving God, trusting Christ, repenting of sins, and being baptized into Christ for the remission of sins. In order to remain Christ's special people, the Davis church of Christ recognizes the sole authority of the New Covenant in regard to organization, worship, mission, and morals.
