As a licensed Realtor in the state of Texas, I have never dealt with a more unprofessional and unreasonable staff. I am (thankfully) moving in December, and in the process of trying to move to another apartment complex, Vail Quarters (Greystar Management), has a policy in place to not give out rental history without first receiving notice...... making it impossible to give proper notice. I have worked on many leases with property managers and landlords, each having their own standard of criteria for what it takes to be approved. This policy is obviously in place in the hopes that if you aren't approved at another property (after giving them move-out notice with no definite home to move TO) that you will have to be stuck paying the elevated rent amount. Also, the only responsible parties to your lease agreement are you the tenant in their opinion. I had my apartment entered on one occasion for a water leak in another unit leaking into mine and received no notice -- no email, note on the door, phone call... nothing. This clearly violates the item in their list described as follows:

Per paragraph 28 "WHEN WE MAY ENTER" Item 1 - Written notice of the entry is left in a conspicuous place in the apartment immediately after the entry.

In response to my pointing out this violation the management only apologized and said she "misread my phone number and dialed it incorrectly". I live alone and had been out of town for the weekend, and it is very alarming to come home to your apartment not as you left it and no idea who has been there or for what reason.

Also, we used to be able to pay our rent by using a drop-box. The management has in my 2 years here gotten rid of the drop-box by claiming that people's rent had been stolen from such boxes in the neighborhood. Never mind they couldn't come up with another alternative. It is a complete inconvenience to have to drive up to the office during their limited office hours (most of the time the 1st-3rd is NOT on the weekends). Their answer to this is to pay online through their system which charges you EXTRA for using a debit/credit card. Other complexes utilize their indoor drop-box by allowing access with the FOBs given to residents 24 hours... I've looked around.

They don't reprimand other tenants from leaving nasty notes on your doors complaining about noise. In one instance I arrived home at 3am (I was out between 9pm and 3am that evening), to a nasty note on my door complaining about noise and that they had kids that need to sleep (the note signed at midnight). Given that I live alone, I felt that the management didn't do their job by having this routed through the courtesy officer on duty, who would have realized nobody was home and indeed it must be another unit making said disturbance. Ever since this incident (over a year ago) I have been afraid to have any company over other than one fried or 2 at a time, over fear of another complaint or having the police called on me.

The only positive thing I can say about this place is that it used to be reasonably priced for what you are getting. Too bad the management is sub par. Also, get used to their go-to excuse being that everything is "industry standard", and they aren't willing to budge or negotiate anything. And every decision they make to "improve" the property or changing policies is only to charge tenants more in fees.

Beautiful

These apartments are updated, fresh, absolutely beautiful. I moved in from a college town and love the lavish hardwood floors, marble counter tops, black appliances, with a stainless steel refrigerator. I love it. It's worth it to look at the 800 sq ft. apartment quarters because there is a built in desk and it's very spacious with a hallway and washer-dryer conveniently built in. Get the pool side view! it's gorgeous. I've never been happier with a place... but also never had my own place before so woo hew! for me! you too maybe, good-luck !

Meh.

The apartments are great: Open, spacious floor plans, granite counters, optional wood floors, optional little yards. The downside: Management is fairly rude, the Addison airport is VERY close. The plane noise is pretty disruptive at first, but it starts to grow on you after a while.
