Founded in 1967, the University Park Fire Department offers a variety of emergency medical, rescue, and fire fighting and prevention services. The department maintains a fleet of more than 10 vehicles for emergency and nonemergency use. Its fleet includes engines, aerial trucks, ambulances, specialty team trailers and administrative vehicles. The department has a division, the Bureau of Inspectional Services, which performs annual inspections on multifamily and rental occupancies within the Village of University Park in the state of Illinois to ensure compliance with the BOCA Property Maintenance Code. The Bureau of Inspectional Services is also responsible for addressing complaints associated with the potential violations of adopted codes and ordinances, including painting and grass cutting.
