Provided by SuperpagesThe department in Arlington where weve worked ( and cover a 19 county area) since 1994 is in love with SGB. I heard all the infamous SGB stories and finally got to go. Oh my my my. Since that first time, we NURSES occasionally take a long lunch just to go to SGB, or if we are nearby (as in Dallas) we will go out of our way to get there for lunch. I have also taken family and friends from Fort Worth or Arlington, some of whom are fabulous cooks and we are all used to eating at rather upscale restaurants. Only raves and questions if they would cater out west. I have been there on Sunday. Yes, a long line but most are take-outs so getting a seat isnt a problem. Been there at night with no discomfort. We are white girls who love good food, and have never had the slightest reason to feel uncomfortable there. Very friendly staff, customers only hungry and happy, great gospel music that can make you bounce in your seat. Timid folks can just drive on by. Your loss. Yes it looks bad outside,

Provided by SuperpagesWhew!! As some of the other reviewers noted, they give you quite a bit of food. The amount of food you get is well worth the eight dollars you have to shell out. The beef tips over rice or mashed potatoes are delicious. I also enjoy the homemade desserts and the broccoli and rice! I'd definitely recommend this spot to the soul food lover.

Provided by SuperpagesThe food is great and they give you alot for the money. It is not a place that you would sit down and eat. I can eat off my plate for three days. That is how much food they give you. I would recommend trying the meatloaf and smothered turkey wings/legs. MMMM...Good

Provided by SuperpagesYou can't go wrong if you are a soul food lover. The amount of food you get will feed three people. Recommend getting food to go. An old converted Burger King building that needs obvious renovations. Not a sit down and eat atmosphere.
