I don’t pretend to know anything about how to do my own taxes, so I contacted Mr. Tyra for help processing my quarterly tax returns. As a graduate student on a government funded stipend I pay estimated quarterly taxes vs. the yearly taxes that most other people pay. Not only did Mr. Tyra accurately do my taxes but he was also available to help with any questions I had along the way through phone or email. In addition, I have recently been contemplating starting an individual retirement account but was unsure of where to turn for advice on this matter. Mr. Tyra proved to be a very knowledgeable source on this as well. Since he knew my financial situation I felt comfortable asking him for advice on which type of retirement account would be right for a person in my situation. Not only did he provide valuable advice, he put it in terms that were easy for me to understand. I never felt stupid asking him to explain what something meant. Very professional throughout the process. Would highly recommend.

I've always done my taxes the old fashioned way via paper form, but I'm at the point where I need help- it's too much headache, and I needed some business tax advice too. I've heard a lot of bad things about HR block- that they rip you off and basically aren't real CPAs (friend of mine worked there for a summer and just did one week of training). So I wanted someone independent and started calling around and got really frustrated- every firm said they don't just answer questions or do hourly work like that and several didnt even bother to return my phone call. One of them said they charge a flate rate of $1500 for a new business consultation- it's like..what!? I just want some help. A business associate recommend Jason so I gave him a call. He was very helpful and open and very knowledgeable. I asked him about tax planning, how i can reduce my liability- and just better set up my accounting stuff in general. I couldn't find any other CPA willing to just charge me an hourly rate to answer my questions and help me with "one off" things. It's good to know you have someone you can just call when you need help or are confused about something. I will definitely be using him for my future business and personal needs. I'm pretty much convinced now that it's totally worth it to have my taxes done professionally and will probably wind up saving me money. One other thing i liked- Jason was an Army grunt like me. Might sound stupid to some but people who served know what i mean. Like when you walk into a firm you just feel like the guy in the suit and tie sees dollar signs, but when someone's been forward deployed like you- it's like hey your a battle buddy so I'm genuinely gonna help you out.
