Dr. Mihaela V Stoica practices General Adult as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Her specialties include Mood Disorders (Depression and Bipolar Spectrum Disorders), Anxiety Disorders, OCD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Disorders of Infancy and Childhood, Tic Disorders, and other Neuro-Developmental Conditions. Dr. Stoica completed her Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” in Bucharest, Romania, where she received Government Scholarships for excellent academic results for the duration of her medical school. She then moved to the United States, where she completed her Residency in Adult Psychiatry at Saint Louis University Hospital in a dual program- Neurology and Psychiatry. Following her residency, Dr Stoica completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. Dr. Stoica is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry as well as in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Texas A&M College of Medicine- Dallas Campus and teaches Disorder of Childhood and Adolescence and Eating Disorders in the Thorntree Psychiatric Associates based Texas A&M Medical Student Psychiatric clinical clerkship. Dr Stoica is fluent in English, Spanish and Romanian. She has a special interest and is involved in ongoing research in novel therapeutic modalities for both adult and childhood illnesses, including genetic testing, repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and nasal esketamine (Spravato).
