The beginnings of discount retailing can be traced to 1962, the first year of operation for Wal-Mart in Rogers, Ark. Its household products include bedding, flowers and plants, lamps, and bedroom, office and kitchen furniture. It provides a range of jewelry, such as bracelets, rings, watches, earrings, pendants and necklaces for all occasions, including weddings and engagements. In addition, it offers personal care products, pet supplies, sports-related items, toys and electronic items. It specializes in camping, hunting, fishing, boating exercise and fitness equipment, such as skates, bikes, scooters, treadmills, weight benches, elliptical, coolers and tents. Wal-Mart maintains locations in cities throughout the United States, including Dallas, Ore.
