Raker has historically completed the majority of its work by negotiation with repeat clients. Established in 1985, Raker provides a full array of commercial construction services to clients on an as-needed basis. These services can be rendered at any point of the construction process to fill the client's need. At Raker no job is too small or too complex for us to complete. Our projects range from simple tenant retrofit space, warehouses, pre-engineered buildings, Class A offices, high-end technical/ medical spaces, and complex electronic engineered communication systems. Raker has been recognized on three occasions for BOMA Atlanta and Southern Regional Office Building of the Year Awards. Raker has recently been honored as International BOMA Award winner for Office Building of the Year, in the category of office buildings over 1, 000, 000 square feet. Raker's employees are a very highly-experienced staff of construction professionals dedicated to satisfying client needs, and completing projects in a cost-effective and timely manner. Through this process, Raker offers its clients a competitively priced project managed to the client's needs. Sharon has over 20 years of construction and real estate business experience in the Atlanta market area. She and her Late Husband Wesley Rakestraw has built Raker Construction Company into a quality- oriented, client-driven company, well-respected by Her peers, architects, and subcontractors. Sharon is responsible for the administration of the corporation, including general supervision of policies, general and active management of financial affairs, and quality assurance of all projects. As a keystone to business, she is committed to manage and grow Raker responsibly, with quality, integrity, and profitability in mind. John has over 18 years experience in the construction industry. He brings professional experience in a wide variety of construction projects. John is driven to satisfy customer needs while maintaining his focus on completing complex projects. He is well respected by all of the architects, engineers, and subcontractors with whom he has worked. His responsibilities within the corporation lie with the coordination of field staff to ensure quality and on-time delivery of the projects. Josh Rakestraw has been with Raker Construction for ten years and currently serves as managing member and project manager. Josh is a member of the Local IBEW 613. Josh oversees the all the electrical projects Raker Service Division performs. Josh's strong management style and infectious personality creates strong bonds between he and his clients and reflects the traits of the late President and Founder of Raker Construction, John Wesley Rakestraw. Currently, Josh has taken on the role of outside salesman and pre-construction coordinator. Josh belongs to several organizations both civic and professional which include Paulding County Chamber of Commerce, ASHE, and Local IBEW 613. Josh also has many interests outside of the office which include hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Josh lives in Rockmart, Georgia with his wife Morgan and son Jaden Wesley Rakestraw. Before joining the team at Raker Construction in July of 2008, Johnathan made a name for himself as an estimator and project manager with two prominent construction firms in the Atlanta area. Johnathan brings a fresh face and new life to Raker Construction Company. Johnathan's duties include the management of all field employees, the company fleet program, safety and training and all vendors who work with Raker Construction. Johnathan also oversees the general construction and progress of all projects and estimating with innovative thinking and creative resolution techniques.
