I had my 2011 Camaro SS stripes painted on at DJ MaCabes. If you want quality work done, this is the place to go! My SS silver stripes are perfect! I get comments on the quality of the work on a constant basis. Don and his wife as well as the employees there are top notch, friendly, honest people. They will not steer you wrong, and they will take all the time you need to help you choose colors etc.. I simply could not even consider going elsewhere. You will not dissapointed. Rob Vangeli

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

As a former PPG paint supplier for over 20 years, I am very familiar with the auto body repair business. After having 3 vehicles repaired at D.J. McCabe's, it is my opinion that the workmanship is highly professional. The jobs were completed when promised, and the pricing was fair and competitive. This is a family business. Dan and Lavonne are extremely friendly and always put the customer first. If you are looking for first class work, I highly recommend D.J.'s

There is a moral to this story.

There are a lot of great reviews for McCabes which are all true. Please read my story since I believe it contains a moral. I tried painting my 14 year old car, 160,000 miles, with spray cans and you can guess how that came out. I brought the car to Mr McCabe and he told me to paint the car would cost more than it was worth. He actually spent some time with me advising me to just drive it into the ground and don't even waste my money on a Maco job. Here a guy turning away business and putting my interests ahead of profit.Through a local paint jobber a new small shop was recommended that would paint the car cheaply. I dropped the car off at that shop and $1600 and 8 weeks later I had to call the police to get my car back. The car had been taken apart and sanded down to the bare metal and left that way. The job was supposed to take 1 week. I understand I am the third person to have to call the police to get his car back. I had to car towed to a so called custom shop because of another recommendation. 2 weeks later when I picked the car up and got it home there was a bug stuck in the rear fender and a big run of clear coat on the front bumper. The paint had some spots of dust like they moved the car out of the paint booth too soon. The inside of the car was full of paint dust from the sanding of the first guy. The rocker panels were not painted underneath. You could see the line where they just taped it off at eye level. There were some plastic fasteners missing which I was able to replace at autozone. The drivers side window would not go down because when they put the door back together the baffle was put in wrong. I took the door apart and fixed this myself. By the third week the paint started to lift off the rear bumper. I called the shop up and they said they had sanded my bumper down to the plastic and there was some contamination that reacted with the paint. I would need a used bumper from a junk yard to be painted for another $450.00 in addition to $1800 had already paid them. They did wet sand the bug out of the clear coat. The run in the bumper had to wait a month to dry to be fixed.Remembering my positive impression of MR McCabe I went back to see him. He said let me try to see what I can do for you. He took the rear bumper cover off and said he would try to repair it but he had to see what was under the paint causing the problem. He called me 2 days later and told me there were 5 layers of paint on the bumper. The labor involved in sanding down the whole bumper and applying a sealer would be more than a cost of a new bumper. He was able to get me a new OEM bumper and paint it for the same price as the junk yard bumper at the other shop.He was worried about the clear coat run because there was a possibility going down to the paint and it not being perfect. Well they fixed that for free and MR McCabe said it wasn't perfect. I looked at the repair and it looked great. All in total I spent $3850 not counting the towing and cab fares to the supermarket for 13 weeks since I only have one car. This was a lot more than the original amount MR McCabe mentioned the first time I saw him for a quote to paint my car. I would have had a showroom car judging by the bumper job his shop did. When I picked the bumper up I said he should not have done such a nice job so it would match the rest of the car. But not doing a good job is not in this mans nature.I am 70 years old and I can tell you there are not very many Don McCabes around. He cares about the work that has his name on it. There is a very dark side to the auto repair business and that is the moral to this story. Do not even think twice if some one is quoting a cheaper price. You will pay a much higher price in many ways that have nothing to do with money. Look at the other body shops on the internet. There is a reason why they have negati...

Excellent Workmanship

I sideswiped my other car in my driveway and had two cars to repair. McCabe's did a superlative job. You could never guess either car had been damaged! Fast, efficient, quality workmanship and courteous. I would never consider anywhere else after dealing with Don McCabe. He is the best! Thanks so much to McCabe's! Well done!

Perfectionists

Rarely do I meet people who are more demanding than I am. I drive 90 minutes (from Tampa) to get modifications done on my car by DJ McCabe's Custom Paint & Body Shop. They're passionate about their work. I hand-over the key, worry about nothing, and end-up thrilled. They handled a car sale for me too. I know high charactor when I see it.These people have my complete trust. Great place to go for automotive advice too.

Team McCabe

Do you need someone to paint a car to "show worthy level"? Do you need a company that will custom mix colors to match precisely the exact shade you requested? Are you impressed with technicians that will "chase" a problem until they discover it and then develop a successful plan of attack to get you back on the road? Do you like the idea of dealing with top-notch, reliable and honest professionals? Oh, do you need a dented fender fixed quickly and perfectly? (So your spouse will never know about the hydrant!) Don and his great crew have provided me a menu of services- show level painting of two classics, serious over-heating problems, complete brake installation , virtually countless gremlins exorcised from four cars . If you are considering paint and bodywork, and want it done right, and need to see proof--email [email protected] and I'll send photos! If that's not enough, I'll show you the cars!!

Don And Crew Did It Again...A Great Job

I recently purchased a 2012 red Mustang a few days later it was damaged. Since I have used Don & Crew before (3-1-10) with complete satisfaction I would not even consider using anyone else. My car was repaired quickly and the cost was very reasonable. He did some additional buffing on the car at no added cost. I can't say enough good things about their work. If ever I need any more paint work done I will let Don & Crew do it.

Glass Install

Long story, but I broke the back cab glass on my Nissan P/U. Drove over and spoke with Don and crew. Don found a used one, luckily since this is a '97 model, and had it installed the next day for 1/2 rpice of a new one... Looks great ...

Great Professional Business

I had work done on my vehicle after an incident. DJ and his crew were very professional and did top quality work at a fair price. They even did some extra minor work that they saw at no additional charge. It is rare that you see this kind of service and they were not only professional...but friendly as well. It is obvious that Don takes pride in his work and his reputation...and refuses to cut corners or do makeshift work, however, they are very fair with their prices. I highly recommend them. That's where any future work that I need will be done. Five stars is not enough.

Joe Greene....Elite Rv Park..Crystal River, Florida

Let me start out by saying that ALL RV'ers have horror stories to tell regarding repair work either uncompleted or being overcharged...We've all been there...Well here's one for the books...Pulling out of an RV park, I recently had an encounter with a well hidden tree stump..leaving me with a daily reminder that I should be more carefull....When I arrived in Crystal Beach, I started calling around to have shops come out and and give me estimates on repairs.D.J. McCabe's Shop was on the Google site and appeared to have some excellent reviews...so I had him come out and give me a price. Once all the prices were in I took the precaution of visiting all shops to check out their facilities.Don's price turned out to be the highest but the other 2 shops had left me with a severe reservation about the quality of work that might turn out.I decided to go with Don, simply because he was honest and a pleasure to do business with.Long story short...the job done was great..the repairs were p

Gary Lucas Homosassa, Fl.

Last December, 2009 I purchased a used 2001 Chrysler Sebring Convt. The rear deck lid and right rear quarter panel had some blisters in the paint. I took it to a local body shop for repair ( they are supposed to be one of the best shops in Homosassa, Fl.) the car had paint runs in it! Not all the blisters were removed ! And the paint did not match !!! I complained to the body shop about the problems and at first I heard every excuse in the book why the paint didn't match. Finally I got a refund of what I paid for their work. I took the car to several other body shops in the area for an estimate on re-doing the work. I was not comfortable with either their price or what they wanted to do to repair my car. I did some research on my own and I was refered to D.J. McCabe's Custom Paint & Body Shop in Crystal River, Fl. I'am sure glad that I contacted them! Don & his Wife were very helpful and courtious. Don explained everything he would do to repair my car. He said that he would do his best

Great People, Great Service, Fair Price

This business is excellent. The owner and his wife are wonderful and helped me with my truck. My repairs included diagnosis of a transmission problem and then replacing a sensor. I believe the repair would have cost twice as much. Their staff is very knowledgeable. I would never hesitate to use Don's shop for most any problem...if they can't fix a problem they know who can.I am sold on their shop! Great work at a fair price, uncommon these days!

Great Work, Great People, Reasonible Price

Well how do you enjoy getting dents put of your truck,,,Try Don and his crew.I just moved to Crystal River and a friend recommended trying this shop for repair on my 2008 Silverado which had 3 wrecks in the right rear quarter panel. Rather than replacing parts Don has equipment to removed dents...We had agreed on a price and time. Don had the truck ready ahead of time and surprise me by fixing the front bumper (removed dents and repainted) FOR FREE...How often can you say fixing a wrecked car was a great experience? If you use Don's shop...you'll be pleasantly surprised...and this review is written to let everyone know how good these people are....
