Me and my fiancée built a house in this district thinking with the school being so small our kids would be well taken care of. Wow, I was wrong!! The past 6 months my 2 kids have been in the district has been hell! The bus driver(s) refuse to drop them off when it rains. Instead I have to take off work and drive 45 minutes to meet them a mile down my road to pick them up! I do not drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle! The bus driver sometimes comes on time, which I drive 1 mile down the road to meet him! This time he came way to early (I got to the bus stop 10 minutes early, and waited 30 minutes!) There is NO number to reach them before 7:45. Most school districts have a transportation number. My daughter is constantly telling me that her teacher spends most of the day on the school provided ipad playing games etc...We both work full time jobs! The only program they have had was at 9AM and only gave a 10 day notice! I have to give a 2 week notice to my employer to take off work! When I contacted the principal about the bus issue, he told me transportation is a privilege. Granted, that is true but if the child 2 miles down the road gets picked up my children should too! There is also no after school program, no daycare in the area... NOTHING! I have to pay for a nanny to pick my children up! Long story short, we are selling our house that we just completed building 6 months ago to move to a much better district! I will never recomend this school to anybody!! This school only caters to Langston students and non working parents! I know school is no daycare. It's suppose to be a place where children learn PRODUCTIVE things, not to learn how to play ipad games etc... Now I see why my neighbors have their child in private school!!
