Bought a good quality truck for thousands less. Chase was very helpful and professional and took care of everything on the truck to get it ready. Drove eight hours to North Carolina home with no problems. I am very happy with my purchase. Do your homework in making your selection there are good and bad . The only negative thing I have to say is I would not recommend dealing with Chuck over the phone or in person. He gave the test drive and was on the phone the whole time as if he didn’t want you to ask any questions. Was not helpful and in my opinion rude and arrogant. Chase on the other hand was just the opposite very straight up and professional. He is an asset to the business. As my grandfather used to say you will catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar. Chase made the experience pleasant and sold another truck. Sorry Chuck but you would not have sold me a truck but I’m very pleased in the sale with Chase would buy again with him. Ask for Chase

The worst dealer I've ever visited in my life. The customer service was awful. I don't recommend this place to anyone. What they tell you on the phone is totally the opposite of what I saw there.

I drove 5 hours to pick up a truck from Don Baskin. I had called the morning of to make sure the truck was still there and it was. when I arrived I was told by another guy that the truck had sold and had been for a while. Needless to say i was highly upset. Don Baskin has no respect for his customer or the customers time. I wasted the entire day and 200 in fuel for nothing.

I drove 7 hours to look at multiple trucks that were all posted in the Truck Paper. I had spoken to the salesman beforehand, and when I arrived, the main truck that I had come to look at was a disaster. It had been wrecked, but all of the posted pictures disguised this. In fact, the pictures had been posed. In the pictures, the truck had perfect mirrors, both of which had been removed when I saw the truck. And the pictures carefully disguised the damage to the body of the truck. I decided to look at other trucks that I had seen in the Truck Paper as well, and I found that all of the pictures had carefully been taken to avoid showing the trucks' defects. ThIs is clearly a VERY dishonest company. Avoid them at all cost.

We went down to Don Baskin Truck Sales from New York a 17 hour drive. After buying a 08 Peterbilt, and these guys going over the truck to "make sure it will make it back to New York" for me the DPF light comes on not even 2 hours after I leave, truck does not regen and goes into warning level 2, flashing DPF light, I call these scumbags and they have the nerve to tell me that is fine it means the DPF is being cleaned... after that call they REFUSED to answer the phone. Truck de-rates and I limp it to a Peterbilt dealer just to get it repaired enough to get me back to New York. You are a FOOL if you buy everything from these low lifes. I hope they get what what's coming to them. Regardless of it being a issue they knew about or not, HOW can you trust anyone that tells you a flashing DPF light is good... Brain dead OR lieing scumbags either way DON'T BUY FROM THEM.

We went down to buy a truck from these guys only to get the worst service ever. When we finally agreed to purchase the truck and settled to have aluminum rims put on they took the truck to the back and opened the hood and broke the main latch that holds the hood on. After confronting them they literally closed the the overhead door and told us to leave. Never the less we got out the main gate without our aluminum rims and a broken hood latch that we had to strap down for the 850 mile drive home.

This company should be ashamed of the way they do business, I think the guy that started this business is gone now, and his son is running it into the ground...... Save your time and money and find a reputable company...

I found an ad for a truck I was looking for on Truck Trader from this company and contacted them to arrange the sale. I secured a loan for the truck and notified them on Thursday I had signed the loan papers and would be down Tuesday to pick the truck up as long as it was in the condition they said it was. I live in the St. Louis area and Baskin is in Tenn. so I had not seen the truck but again, I had expressed to them if it operated as stated it was SOLD and they agreed. Monday I called again to reassure them I was coming to get the truck and was told they sold it to someone else on Saturday. When I calmly and politely expressed my displeasure and explained I had went through a great amount of effort to get the loan and take 2 days off work to dive to Tenn. the salesman (who is also an owner) told me I was rude and he was glad he sold the truck to someone else and probably would want to sell me anything anyway! I have managed businesses for 15yrs and have owned my own company for over 10yrs and as a business owner, I was disgusted with the way Baskin treats is customers. I have never had a worse customer experience. After having this experience I researched the company and this is what I have found:

I called on an off for two weeks inquiring about a yellow box truck for sale on their website. The last time I called I was told that a man was there then looking at the truck I was inquiring about. I had been led to believe that the truck had good rubber, good box and was in good condition. I was told that if the man looking at the truck did not buy it I would be called back. I ask about buying the truck over the phone since I lived in another state. Chuck their sales person said I could wire the money for the truck on the next business day if the man did not purchase it. I ask if they would deliver the truck. He said yes and I ask how much that would cost.He answered $600.00.. I ask him if he would hold the truck for me. Chuck did not call me back so I called him and ask if he still had the truck and he said yes. Again he said he would call me back. He did not call me back. So I went to the bank and got a cashiers check to purchase the truck. Afterwards I read the reviews on this site and because somewhat leary of this company's way of doing business. So on a Sunday night I drove all night through 3 states to Covington, Tn. When I got there I found a business the size of about 5 city blocks full of trucks and other commercial equipment. At 6 am on Monday morning, the gates to the business were opened. I drove in...I ask guy inside the business about the box truck. He said he did not know the price on it and that I would have to wait and ask his Dad when he comes in. Later again I ask when his Dad would be in...I was told around 8 am. Then another guy came walking by my car about 30 minutes. I ask him when Chuck would be there. He said 7 am. is when the sales people come. I described the truck that I was there to see and he said that the truck was sold on Sat. I ask if they had any more. I was told I would have to wait until Chuck arrived...Sure enough just before 7 am a guy was walking by my car. I ask are you Chuck and he said yes. I told him it was me that had called him about the yellow box truck. I ask him if he still had it. He said yes. I ask why he did not call me back. He said he went and looked at the box after talking to me and saw it was in bad condition. I told him I wanted to see the truck anyway. He went and got a golf cart and I followed him in my car to the truck. What I found was disgusting. The truck did not look like the picture posted on the web. It was rusted out and MISSING THE DRIVE SHAFT. Too it has a bad oil leak in the brake boot. The hydrolic lift on the back too was rusted out. The truck was in bad shape. The guy then purposely cut his time short with me, showed an attitude of I am leaving and not going to be at this truck with you any more, got on his goft car, drove about 30 feet away, watched and waited for me to get in my car and to follow him back out of the back of the property. He was frick'n rude. I was really mad after driving 7 hours to see this truck and planning to buy it....that I was fed lies, mislead about the condition of the property on the telephone, told it was sold, then told it wasn't sold and basically treated rudely and disrespectfully. It cost me the price of a rental car, gas and some very tired driving time to go to Baskin Truck Sales. It is a bad idea to buy anything sight unseen from this place. I found I could not trust them, was fed lies, mislead about the truck I was interested in. Something was really strange and felt weird about this place. I am glad I got out so cheap of spending only about $130.00 in an effort to purchase a truck that I had been deceived about. The description on the advertisement was deceptive. I will never ever go there again. NEVER EVER....

LISTEN UP!!! I read all the bad reviews and was hesitant about Don baskin truck sales, but I took a leap of faith and bought a truck from them 2006 Sterling dump truck, sight unseen. It has been exactly as described to us. The truck was in good condition and runs well. Chuck was very helpful with entire transaction. These people sell alot of used equipment and can't satisfy everyone. Don't let others scare you from at least giving them a chance.

hey thanks to yall who reported and warning about don baskins truck sales, becuz i stopped by there to look at these trucks and prepare to buy me a truck BUT i notice that most of these trucks were torn up and didnt look good!! and i checked it out on the internet about them, WHY they alway have to said" GOOD RUN and GOOD RUBBERS?????????????, i am 100 % sure that someone will take thier business down for good!!

This company is a bad place to do business. They are way worse than a car salesman. Please take my advice and stay away. Their equipment are equal to a junkyard. They try to make it right to get it by and then sell it. Most of the equipment are not legal and will not pass DOT Inspection. They will lie to your face just to make a sell. These people (BASKIN FAMILY) will be shut down soon. Customers will start to recognize these weasel's of people. A old man once told me WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND PERIOD.

Found a truck they had on truckpaper.com that had the specs I was looking for. Called salesman several times that week then was finally able to secure a plane ticket to Memphis. I called the salesman and let him know exactly when I was coming the day before arrival. Found and Made arrangements with tire shop to replace bad tires as the salesman had advised. Get to Memphis the next day, take a $100 taxi to Baskins. Salesman and I went to look at truck and take for a test drive. Before we got out of the parking lot another salesman stopped us And said Skip(the owners son) had sold the truck that morning. Salesman stated that he told skip I was coming out of state to look at the truck, but that skip does what he wants.

Check reviews, many people have had bad experiences with this company. And as one person stated their place does look like a truck junkyard. My worst experience and let down in all my years of buying equipment.

FYI- I wasn't going to buy the truck I came to look at as it was a piece of crap. I had another truck and a trailer to carry a piggyback forklift that I was interested in looking at, but after that experience there was no way I was going to give them my money.

I saw the truck on truckpaper.com and called the company to check if the truck is still available they set yes and i can come out. I asked them if they need deposit Charles said no if i come today. then i told them my first and last name to make sure they don't sell to somebody else. I bought a tickets for 1000 dollars and came to Tn in 4 hrs.At first they showed me a truck with same color as i sow on advertising and told me that's the one but i noticed that the truck has missing mirrors and have some paint work dun on a front. i checked the VIN NR. and it was different then i saw on advrt. They told me that the truck was sold buy mistake to other buyer and they can show me other trucks.The other trucks was ether collision or with over 750 000 miles and mechanical problems.Then i want to Town to find out about the Baskin Truck Company and i was told that i am not the first one with that problem. They sad DON'T BUY FROM DON the miles are much less then on ECM. The trucks on advertising they don't have in a yard. Don't waste your time and money i lost 1,500.00 on this "good deal".

This company ripped me off took 4,000 dollars from me that i put on a truck i took him to court and won the case this guy and his lawyer has still not paid me ...
