Took us about 30 minutes to get in and out with a passing score - yeah! Great local spot / service for a smog check. They were quick to expedite my car.

I drive a VW, which means that when my left headlight goes out, it takes an entire military troop and an act of Congress to change it. I had the bulb, but couldn't remove all the parts to fix the light. Fitzgerald did it one Saturday morning and I think he charged me $5. Said he wasn't going to be doing anything else if I hadn't come in. They are so fair and really nice. And, he was talking about VWs and repairs, and how they won't fix Beetles, so I know that they are knowledgeable as well. I was really happy.

We have a jeep and a grand am with over 130,000 miles each. Fitzgeralds keeps them both running smoothly. My wife brings the car in most of the time and they always treat her right. They always tell us what we don't need done as well as what needs fixing now. Many times I was sure something bad and expensive was wrong, but Fitzgeralds found a loose hose or other small deatail and fix it free or a very low price. No rip offs, or trying to sell you things you don't need. Big time recomenation.

It's hard to find a good mechanic so I thought it would be important to post a review for Fitzgeralds. I have been going to Fitzgeralds for over 6 years and have referred my family and friends to them. Dan and his team at Fitzgeralds are one of those rare types of mechanics that will tell you, despite you insisting that the noise your car is making must mean some expensive part needs to be replaced (cuz that's what it said when you looked it up on the internet), that a bolt just needed to be tightened and your car is ready to be picked up. BTW - they are also AAA approved so you don't have to just take my word for it. ;o)

Brought a used car I was buying here to get checked up. They were friendly and answered all of my questions about the car. The inspection cost $85 and they threw in a free oil change coupon. I wound up buying it so we'll see how it does down the road.

I have been to a lot of different auto repair centers to get an oil change. One day I thought to myself, "How do I know they are actually changing my filter?" So I started to mark them with sharpies or sandpaper. There has been many times I have caught auto repair centers not changing it. I have not had that problem with Fitzgeralds.

I hate getting my car smogged! It is always a hassle and inconvenient. I went to Fitzgerald’s to get my smog tested and it did not pass. I know a lot of people have wasted money trying to get their cars to pass and Fitzgerald’s was able to do it efficiently and I didn’t have to dish out a bunch of cash in the process! Highly recommended

They always stand behind their work. My power window did not work after I had my car repaired here. It was completely unrelated to the mechanical repairs but they offered to fix it at no extra cost. Nice guys!

I rarely write reviews about companies but the reason I have been coming there for years is because they treat my money like it were their own. Fair Prices and excellent service.

Was referred by a friend so I went online to look up the business. I saw all their great reviews so we went in and bought our car great servcie.

A friend of my brother (a professional race car driver) suggested we go to FItzgerald's 2 years ago and we've been taking both of our cars since. They are great, honest, kind and we've consistently had good experiences with this garage. I'd definitely recommend FItzergald's.

"My Nissan Altima was making a really loud rattling sound whenever I started the car. My girlfriend told me about Fitzgerald's. I went in and

spoke to Dan, the owner, and he immediately figured it had to do with the heat shield. Nissan knows about this issue, but my car was not under

the factory recall. I dropped the car off that evening with Dan. Dan estimated it would take about a day-and-a-half to repair. I got the

car back the same day. The price was very honest and reasonable for the amount of work done. Had I taken the car to Nissan, they would have

charged twice the amount. Nissan had told me that the car needed a lot of repairs. Dan and his mechanics looked over the car and found no other

problems. It's great to go to a mechanic who is honest and does the job right. My Altima runs like new, even with 70K miles on the odometer. I highly

recommend Dan and his crew at Fitzgerald's!"

Fitzgerald's does an awesome job and has for years. We have 3 vehicles, two of them more than 25 years old. Fitzgerald's is the main reason those two run well. When we finally had to replace the third vehicle with a 2006 model still on warranty, we found the dealer failed to properly bleed the brakes after they did some work on it. We have taken it to Fitzgerald's ever since. You are not a nameless driver to them. When I called today to make an appointment for the 2006's 65K scheduled maintenance, they knew me right away. They are a local family-owned business that's been in Costa Mesa since 1964. You just can't find anyone better.

I was relieved to have the car ready before the weekend even started, and that the final price ended up matching the inexpensive estimate. I'll definitely return.

Bottom line, They took a great care of us and our car. I will bring my car here again if/when needed. Finding a mechanic you like and trust can be difficult. For those who are not fully car-literate, there is almost a leap of faith component to the process. I can confidently say I will be going back here if and when I should need more work.

They are honest and do what they say they will do at the price they quote. They are in a convenient location

I had my truck worked on this past week and as always Fitzgeralds Auto Care did a great job. No more overheating. Once again, this is the best shop I have ever used.
