Dr. Jenkins is the founder of Jenkins NeuroSpine, a Spine-focused practice in New York and Connecticut, focusing on improving the lives of patients suffering from spinal conditions. He developed new treatments and techniques in his prior role as co-director of the Neurosurgery Spine Program and director of both the Spinal Oncology and the Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (MIS) programs at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is still an associate professor of both Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Jenkins is a board certified Neurosurgeon and fellowship trained in complex spinal neurosurgery from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He has offices in Manhattan and Greenwich, Connecticut and practices the full spectrum of spinal surgery. He recently left the full-time faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he still retains “voluntary” faculty status, teaching the next generation of residents and students of all ages. He founded his new practice, Jenkins NeuroSpine, to embody all the lessons he learned practicing the most advanced medicine in the world, but bringing it to patients using the latest in technology and evidence-based medicine techniques to ensure all patients get the best recovery possible. He is the former Director of the Spinal Oncology Program and oversees the treatment of tumors that involve the nerves, spinal column, and spinal cord. A pioneer in utilizing minimally invasive spinal surgery (MIS) to remove spinal tumors, Dr. Jenkins invented the concept of treating spinal tumors using a minimally invasive approach. In addition to his work in removing spinal tumors, Dr. Jenkins performs decompression procedures, spinal fusions, artificial disk replacements, and works to correct spinal deformities and does complicated revision cases. An Assistant Professor in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine,
