I had a horrible experience with this shop when I last visited to pick up a pair of shoes. Today, I was looking for a shoe repair to stretch a pair a shoes that just arrived - lo and behold, this repair shop came up, among others. I was curious about the low ratings, and I guess it shouldn't have been surprising to see that most other customers had the experience I did with the spiteful, hating wife! If my shoes needed repair and this was the last shop on earth, I would just toss them! It was the most horrific, dispicable customer service I ever encountered!

Horrible customer service

I took my only pair of dress shoes to Trinity Kobbler since the heels were coming off, and yes I had to pre-pay for the repair.

Well, when I picked them up, they looked pretty good and had even been shined up a bit, so I put them back in the closet where they stayed until I was dressing to go to a wedding about a month later.

When I put them on I thought a small pebble or something was in them but discovered that at least 6 small tack points were sticking up through each heel bed! Yep, I was walking on nails.

I was able to hammer these down enough so I could go on to the wedding in them and not bleed to death.

Taking them back to Trinity Kobbler I expected an apology, an offer to fix what was not right and even perhaps a return of some or all of my costs. Having started and run a successful small business for thirty years, I knew this is how I would treat my customers.

So, I was shocked when the lady at the counter almost sneered at me as she said no nails are used in the process of re-heeling and their work had not been responsible for the nail points in the heel bed. She took the shoes and said the cobbler would look at them and call me if there would be an additional charge.

Not only was this very poor customer service, the entire conversation with the woman was combative, defensive, unapologetic and very rude.

I only hope she doesn't throw my shoes in the trash as she did not, as I discovered later, give me a claim stub.

I will make one last trip there only to try to reclaim my shoes.

I simply did not believe what ...

I simply did not believe what happened to me today. I dropped off my shoes this morning and Mr King was nice and professional. However when I went to pick the shoes up I encountered the exact opposite from Mrs Barbara King. After she took my ticket she basically snatched it from the card I had it stapled to for my own records because although I was only picking up one pair of shoes, I brought 3 pair total. After she tore the receipt from the business card, she turned around and started to look for the shoes, but from the time I got in the place I was trying to tell the woman where my shoes were. They were on the shelf right in front of the register which was right in front of the counter where I was standing. I continued to tell Barbara (owner's wife) that "there are my shoes right there," but she was offended that I was attempting to help her out. She then turns around and yells at me "WE HAVE A PROCEDURE!!!" I replied mam I've been trying to tell you for the last 10 minutes where my shoes were but you wouldn't listen. She then slams my receipt on the counter and yells for her husband and tells him come help this young man because I'm not going to deal with rudeness. The entire time she's waiting on him she's staring at me with this look of death in her eyes. It was obvious she was already upset, but by the looks of these poor reviews she is just DEMON POSSESSED! Mr King kindly passed me my shoes and I attempted to tell him the truth and the entire time his wife is yelling, she calls me a punk, she curses repeatedly at me and tells me that this is my shop and after you pick up your other shoes don't come back here. I replied of course not and I'll be sure to tell everybody I know! The entire time while I'm walking out she is literally cussing and fussing and Mr King isn't saying one word. It was obvious to me in a matter of minutes who wears the pants, but I will make it my business to share this Ghetto Business with as many people as I can. It is so sad that black people can't run a business without being GHETTO and just plain ole stupid!!!!! I have NEVER and I repeat I have NEVER ever been treated so harsh like this in all of my days. This woman is BITTER, maybe because of her weight, looks or the fact that her and husband don't match.. I don't know what the issue is, but she was SPITTING nails pissed! I would STRONGLY Advise EVERYONE to NOT go to this place of business if you don't desire to have this kind of treatment. I will make it my business to let every that I know NOT TO GO HERE!!! Just NUTS for a Friday!!!

They absolutely saved an expen...

They absolutely saved an expensive pair of boots that looked like they were headed to the trash pile. The boots now look amazing, even now after 10+ wears this month. They have also repaired at least three pairs of dress shoes in the last six months for me and they look like new every time. The family who runs the place is very knowledgeable and even gave me tips on how to make my shoes last longer so I have to come there LESS.

I don't know what is wrong with whoever wrote some of these other reviews (they are obviously multiple reviews from one source, some of them even have the same last name), because this place has been a lifesaver for me. I'm an attorney and wear my shoes out fast walking around downtown. I have lived in Cordova for 23 years and even used to take shoes to the place that was formerly in this same location in Trinity Commons, and the work done by the man and his wife here has been noticeably better.

I would absolutely recommend this place and further say that the family that owns it has always given me GREAT customer service and shoe care tips.

Horrible

They ruined a pair of my shoes. The woman threw them at me when I came to pick them up. I was starting to open the box to examine them and she started yelling like an absolutely crazy person. They got their money up front-we all know why. They DO NOT KNOW what they are doing. I'm going to sue!!

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!

These people are among the worst I've ever encountered in terms of customer service. I called to see if the type of shoe issue I was having was one that they could perhaps handle. The woman was incredible short, curt and mean at best. She acted as if i were bothering her and didn't answer my questions except to say, "just bring them in if you want help". I ended up telling her how rude she was and that I would take my business elsewhere. I can't believe businesses with this level of POOR customer service survive in this day and time. They probably even claim to be Christians. That's the saddest part. Horrible witness.
