Dr. Shields received his undergraduate degree from Harding University and his M.D. from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he also completed a pediatric internship and residency. He completed a Fellowship in adult/pediatric allergy and immunology at the University of Missouri and Kansas University Medical Centers in Kansas City, Missouri.
