In 1944 Jack Finn and Harry Gardner established Gardner, Inc to distribute automotive products. Soon after its founding, Gardner began to distribute air-cooled engines and parts and allied lawn & garden products. In 1985, with the growth and success of Briggs & Stratton, a need was a recognized for a more singular approach in the support of the Briggs & Stratton service business. And so in 1985, Central Power Systems was established to place a more concentrated focus on the marketing and distribution of Briggs & Stratton engines and service parts.In the years since our founding, Central Power Systems has maintained a mutually successful relationship with Briggs & Stratton as an authorized Central Sales & Service Distributor and has developed new relationships with many other affiliated, associated and accessory product lines within the Lawn & Garden industry. From locations in Columbus, Ohio and Tampa, Florida, we distribute through a powerful network of over 4, 000 registered servicing dealers in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky, Western Pennsylvania, the panhandle of Maryland, Florida and the Bahamas.In 2004, Central Power Systems became a founding member of the Integrated Distributors Network ( IDN ). The mission of this unique organization is to provide its vendors and customers a seamless network for the marketing and distribution of products throughout the whole of the United States and Canada.Central Power Systems enjoys a solid reputation for business development driven by progressive initiatives and supported by the implementation of practical innovation.
