Growing up in Jefferson City, Dr. Lana S. Krause attended Jefferson City High School. Upon graduation she went on to the University of Missouri – Columbia, where she got her start in dentistry working as a dental assistant. She graduated in 1984 from the University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She attained her degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry in 1988. Dr. Krause received her specialty Certificate in Periodontics and Masters of Science in Oral Biology in 1995 from UMKC School of Dentistry. While in dental school she performed research in the area of LASER therapy and Periodontal microbial medicaments. Additionally, Dr. Krause taught at UMKC School of Dentistry for several years and traveled to South America as part of dental mission efforts to third world countries. All aspects of Periodontics are fascinating to Dr. Krause. Periodontal diagnosis and treatment continue to grow and change. She is constantly engaged in making procedures more efficient and comfortable for the patient. Combining proven treatment modalities with current findings allows her to provide her patients with predictable Periodontal therapy. Dr. Krause is married to Dr. Kevin Krause, who practices as a general dentist in Prairie Village, Kansas. They have four children, and their family enjoys vacationing in Colorado, skiing in the winter and hiking and exploring outdoors in the summer. When away from the office, Dr. Krause spends time playing tennis, running, and dabbling in music. Dr. Krause is the Periodontal advisor for her local chapter of the Spear Study Club. For the last 24 years Dr. Krause has been in private Periodontal practice in the Kansas City area.
