I have a ridiculous vehicle, an old Ambulance that most repair shops don't even want to touch. It's also a bit of a lemon, and as such, I've had entirely too many experiences with tow companies.



Let me tell you, they're rarely pleasant. Until my experience with the proprietor of American Towing and Salvage, I had a pretty low opinion of tow truck drivers in general, for better or worse. Not only did American Towing change my idea of that, but they took a tricky situation (my starter was dying, the three giant batteries that were no longer able to turn it over had died trying), and took the most pragmatic solution to solving it. They saved me hundreds of dollars trying to fix things in the middle of nowhere and helped me limp back home to San Francisco, and cut me a deal on the towing out of sympathy.



I can only hope that anyone in the area is fortunate enough to have the owner of this company helping them. He's a rare breed.

After undergoing a traumatic rollover which totaled my car, american towing stole valuable items from my vehicle. It is immoral and disturbing that they would do this after someone has gone through such a horrific ordeal already.
