When we decided that we needed a new roof on our house, we contacted Tim at DeWit Roofing. Tim came out to inspect our house within a few days. He was up on the roof for quite a while and informed us of the reason for our leak and actually placed a temporary fix over vent pipe. Tim analyzed the condition of our shingles and showed us a problem area around our fireplace chimney. He measured the roof, which is quite large, and came back within several days with a reasonable bid. Since this was late in the fall, he was not able to do the job before the weather became too cold, but we were one of the first jobs scheduled for this spring. The crew of eight showed up on April 1 and we had a new roof on our house by the evening of April 2. The crew was very professional in every way. They cleaned up the area and did not let debris blow around even though it was quite windy the second day. We chose Owens Corning Duration Designer shingles in Summer Harvest. The color looks great on our house. We are very pleased with the results. Congratulations to Tim and his crew for a job well done.

Neil designed a plan for our unfinished basement and turned it into a dream space! It was such a smooth process from the first day until the last wall of paint was dry! His construction crew, Jesse, Derrick, Austin and Wade, were so professional, meticulous, thorough and innovative, that is was just a pleasure to have them in our home! They did everything we asked, and MORE!!!!! My husband is retired from education and I have been a teacher (DMPS) for the past 20 year's, and we have lived in 4 new houses and we can sincerely say that Neil Dewit Construction is without question, the most honest and reliable builder we have ever worked with! He will definately build our new house, when we move again!Looking at the finished product everyday has just been so pleasing and wonderful! We can't thank Neil and his staff enough!!!!

This house was a nightmare, many things were hidden and did not know until I started tearing up the floor and found joists were bad and so was the foundation. I called several companies and settled on Neil deWit construction. He spent lot of time looking it over and trying to come up with the best plan to move forward with since there was so much to rebuild. As you will see in the pictures I took, it was a major undertaking. Basically removing everything below the 2nd floor and supporting the whole house while they removed the foundation, flooring and walls. Lots of people came by to look, as there hasn't been too many houses that looked like this. Neil's foreman and his crew are top notch and know what they are doing, and take pride in what and how they do it. If they can't fix it right, they don't want to do it. Seems like a pretty good idea since that way they don't have a shoddy job that someone else will have to come back in and fix it right. So now we are at the place of putting on the siding but I wanted to post this even before they completed the job because as you see in the pictures it is quite an improvement. Once they are completely done I will post again. I will call this crew again in a heart beat to fix any kind of problem with a house. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed in their work.

From the time of the estimate to the finish of the job, the entire process was exceptional. I was kept informed of the timing of when things were going to be done. When there were delays because of the weather, Tim made sure to let me know when the job was going to be done. I originally said that my roof could be done as soon as possible (by the end of summer) but it wasn't an emergency After storms starting blowing off my shingles, I asked to be done sooner rather than later and it was done within two weeks. The crew took exceptional pride in their work and did a great job. I would definitely recommend them.

Tim was so easy to work with. The work was completed in a timely manner and his crew was very thorough. I would recommend him to all of my friends and neighbors.

Tim answered the phone promptly when I called and we set an appt. for the estimate. On the day of the appt. he called to verify and to ask if he could come a few minutes early. He was kind and very efficient. He honored the Angie's List coupon, and gave me an option of money off or an upgrade on venting. Because it was a small job and I stay home, I readily agreed to allow him to contact me at the "last minute" when his crew had extra time. He called 5 days later and told me they had time if it was OK with me. I should say he called 2 times (cell and land line) and left a text...as I was on the phone when he first called. His persistance was sincerely appreciated. The crew of 4 was prompt, respectful, and fast. Because the ground was soft due to recent rain, they carried their tools and shingles halfway down our 1 acre lot and put the old shingles on tarps. At the end of the project one truck driven by the owner was used to remove all of the old shingles. There was no damage to the lawn. They left additional shingles in case of future damage. Finally, the owner (Tim) sincerely instructed me to call for ANY reason, even if I was not sure if anything was wrong. This was one of the easiest home repair projects I have dealt with. I would definately recall for additional roofing services...(house, garage), and definately recommend this company to others.

Tim's hard working crew arrived at 7 AM and completed the job just before dark. We are very pleased with the workmanship and Tim's professionalism. Some years ago we added a family room with a fireplace. Tim discovered that the flashing was done incorrectly on the chimney. He removed the siding, repaired the flashing and replaced the siding at no extra charge. Very impressive. Would high recommend his company.

For people liking short answers - we are very happy with our experience. I felt I could trust Tim (and by extension, DeWit) with my business. The roof is repaired with no more leaking after many rains and around two months of Iowa's rainest weather. I would use them again.First contact was very good. They were responsive, polite, and professional. Tim came out to the house very quickly (within a day or two) and inspected the roof. He inspected the attic from the inside as well. We discussed my options which were to do a small patch that would probably fix the leak to a larger repair that would guarantee the area would remain trouble-free (explaining the reasons). Tim provided me two estimates right there on the spot. I felt I could trust him and we moved forward. I didn't have any original shingles left but he took one and matched it very well - I can't tell the difference other than the obvious fact that they are new shingles. The work was performed quickly by respectful workers who cleaned up before they left. Tim came back personally to show me the work and ask me what I thought before I paid (never pay for service beforehand).We really liked Tim - he seemed knowledgeable, dedicated and sincere. I felt like it was one person talking to another instead of a salesman/customer.

Neil exceeded our expectations. I think he delivered more for the price we paid than we would have from another contractor. He built us another garage and an amazing new front porch. Neil is an excellent woodworker...sometimes you have to trust his "inner vision" and not rely on what a paper design might look like. Absolutely would use him again (if he's available!) Thanks Neil...we LOVE how everything turned out!
