A cozy little neighbor"hood" bar nestled in the middle of section 8 housing. Frequented by all the colorful characters that govt subsidized housing brings. Stop in for a drink after leaving your dealer's apartment and say Hi to all the creepy old men in their 70s.

They added a new deck last year and with the summer nights drying up and cooling down, it's a great place to have a converation and an ice cold drink. It's fenced in so you feel like you are in your own oasis. Salute'

As an unbiased patron of Towerview, I feel like I must address the slanted, negative feedback that a few have chosen to post. It would be my guess that these negative comments are posted by disgruntled, former employees or undesirable patrons that are no longer welcome at the bar due to their antics.
From everything that I can gather, the current bar staff has been in place for at least a year and they are all very good. I believe there is new management recently that has improved operations at the bar, including live music more regularly and frequent drink promotions.
As with any establishment that serves alchohol, you will have an occasional knucklehead. But this is a small, local dive bar with a friendly customer base and little if any problems where a patron would not feel safe.
Yes, the owner has rubbed a few people wrong over the years, but in most instances, he was justified in his concerns but may have not communicated those concerns in the best manner. For every one person that slams him, I would guess there are five who would say thanks for the round of drinks he bought or thanks for the support of our local fundraiser.
Give this place a try and judge for yourself. I did and found that the handful of bad reviews were unfounded and ridiculous.

I'm surprised this local dive is still in business. I noticed that the owner hasn't pulled a gun on any minors as of late (as mentioned in the local media)-(that's gotta help).....They have added a new deck out back that really looks out of place. It's kind of like putting a tuxedo on a pig......I stopped in a few weeks ago to see if anything had changed since I was in last - Well, besides the deck, and some really bad bands - it's about the same. Same old regulars stumbling in, and taking their usual spots at the bar. Kids still running rampant around the property. Yelling and screaming from obvious domestic disputes that are occuring in the immediate area outside the 'bar'. Sounds like it was coming from the roach motel, probably section 8 apartment complex that borders the property. I'm 6'2"", weigh about 275, and almost asked for an escort out to my car..... If you have any class, or if you get embarassed easy, then I probably wont see you there - If you live in the neighborhood, if you don't have a car, if your within walking distance, and if you just don't give a crap about what other people think - then your going to be right at home.........My guess is, if you see any positive feedback posted here - it probably came from the owner pretending to be an unbiased customer ?

Towerview used to have an awesome bartender named lou. Randy is a great guy but the owner is a punk. Just avoid that hack and you will have a great time.
