Founded in 1970, Great Oaks is one of the largest career and technical education districts in the United States. The district provides career, work force and economic development services to individuals, businesses, industries and communities in southwest Ohio. It offers courses related to a variety of subjects, such as auto body repair, ballroom dance, carpentry, cabinet making, computers, cooking and electronics. Great Oaks also provides degree programs in masonry, electrical, building and industrial maintenance, and heating, ventilating and air conditioning. Its unit, the Great Oaks Education Foundation was founded in 1999 and is a nonprofit organization that provides career-technical programs and services for youths and adults. The district has partnerships with High Schools That Work SW Ohio and Tech Prep. Great Oaks maintains a campus, Scarlet Oaks in Cincinnati.
