The Academy for Change, a part of the Chico Unified School District, is a community day school that provides alternative education to students. The school enrolls students who are on probation referral, expelled from another school and referred by the Student Attendance Review Board. It operates an after-school program for students in grades seven, eight and nine. The Academy for Change employs health, attendance and instructional aides, as well as a custodian. The school maintains a cafeteria and GED test center. It also conducts the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) program within the school campus. The Academy for Change is located in Chico, Calif.
