Founded in 1956, Children s Chicago Choir is a multicultural, choral music education organization. It offers treble, men's and full-baritone ensembles for ages 8-to-18, and a multicultural repertoire including classical works, folk songs, jazz, gospel, and popular music from around the world. Chicago Children s Choir also offers training in sight-singing and basic music theory, and frequent performance opportunities. The choir s programs include more than 65 choruses in over 50 Chicago elementary schools, and more than five after school neighborhood choirs at sites throughout Illinois. Its also has a 100-voice concert choir that includes treble and chamber ensembles, men's chorus, a madrigals ensemble, and a show choir. The choir has collaborated with various performing arts organizations and artists, such as Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Joffrey Ballet, Celine Dion, Samuel Ramey, and Dennis DeYoung.
