Anixter Center is a nonprofit agency that assists people with disabilities to live and work in the community. It is a provider of vocational, residential and educational options, substance abuse prevention and treatment and health care. It is also an advocate for the rights of people with disabilities to be full and equal members of the community and operates more than 70 programs at 35 locations in the Greater Chicago area. The agency serves more than 5,000 people suffering from a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities and mental illness, including autism, HIV and AIDS, traumatic brain injury and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
