I had a disaster in my home. Able and Willing turned my disater into a very pleasant dream. My sewer was plugged. I had called 2 other companies. Each of the 2 that I called were not very good and mis-diagnosed my problem. They told me my sewer had collapsed. Some of the equipment the brought in my house actually smelled bad and looked old. They left a mess and they had me digging up my back yard and my sewer for no reason. I even had people come out from the city and they were as backwards as the 2 plumbers who had been out. I finally got fed up with all of them and called Able Plumbing, since that is the plumbers that my dad used.

I called Able Plumbing in the afternoon and they had a man come out really quick by the name of Bob. I could not believe it. It was late in the day and when this guy arrived he was still clean like he just took a shower, had a nicely pressed uniform, a clean truck and nice manners. He listened to my whole story and looked at what the other companies and the city had done. He arranged to have a crew come out in the morning and resolve my situation.

Bob from Able and Willing Plumbing called me early in the morning like he promised. He send out 2 men, also very clean and polite as well. They pulled up to my house in a sparkly clean truck. They brought 2 large pieces of equipment into my house. Their equipment was clean and actually looked brand new and didn't smell. They got right to work.

With in 2 hours, my sewer was draining and my toilets were flushing. They did not have to dig up my yard and did all their work in the basement. Before they left, they cleaned up their work area in the basement as well as the mess the other plumbers and the city left. Bob even returned to my house before they finished just to check on things.

Thanks Bob and you guys at Able Plumbing. I will never call another plumber besides you. Nice people, reasonable prices, prompt and professional. They WOW'ed me!

Able & Willing is an excellent company. My house was built in 1898 and always in need of repairs. I had my entire plumbing replaced for $1,700.00 from the basement to the roof. This was the sewage plumbing. Now that might seem like an average price but my house is a 2 flat and it is an excellent price. It has been 10 years now and there has never been a problem whatsoever. They deserve a good rating for excellence.

Please avoid these people like...

Please avoid these people like the plague. My bathroom sinks were clogged up so I hired them to do a simple rodding. This services typically runs anywhere from $55-$75. They sent out plumbers who, instead of assesing the issue, telling me what they where going to do and having me inspect their work at the end just simply went to work and handed me a $325 bill at the end. I called the main office and was told this what their "flat rate". I paid the bill and felt horribly ripped off.

A few hours later I went to use my bathtub and found that not only was it blocked up when it had not been before, but now it was seeping up the same black water that clogged up my sink drains. I called Able & Willing expecting them to come out and take care of it since this happened after they did work on my sinks. I was terribly mistaken. I was told that the best deal they could offer was to take $100 off another service call and that they wouldn't even bother sending out another plumber unless I had $225 cash in hand. I questioned why I should have to overpay a second time for a problem they created with the first service call. These people did not care and basically wrote me off.

If you want to deal with unprofessional, money grubbing, fourth rate plumbers then call this place. I would strongly suggest going with a more established company like Roto Rooter or Central Rodding. This business is not even BBB certified. I learned the hard way.

The company's business strategy is price gouging, opportunistic greed, and deceptive advertising.

My mother was one of the first customers of the new company ownership. Fraud and greed became more appearant with each transaction. She has been experiencing short term memory loss for about 2 years. In 2008, the company replaced a sump pump for $353.75 and charged $634 for a battery only on a backup sump pump. Also, I was not aware of three service call charges in 2008 totaling $732 until looking at the checkbook register the following year. On two of those questionable charges, we do not have an invoice or copy. On 8/24/09, my mother paid $199 to Inspect Plumbing. The final tally of these six transactions amounted to $1918.75.. One month later, my mother received an invoice for Annual Plumbing Protection Program Renewal. Able Plumbing began to launch a program asking customers for prepayment in advance for minor plumbing repair work that may or may not needed for the next 12 months. Later in 2009, a commercial aired that the spokesperson refers to as Free Labor.

Set Up

A sump pump in my basement had what looked like moisture around the outside of it. I called Able & Willing Plumbing based on a television commercial advertising low repair rates. I was advised via telephone to turn off the pump and to not use the basement toilet until a new pump could be installed (the possible cost was between $400-$600 which was not in my budget). I did as advised and before long an odor began to come from the basement. I called Able & Willing ready to make the sacrifice and invest in a new pump. A plumber arrived promptly that morning and did an actual check to learn that the sump pump was not broken, the moisture was due to a piece not being properly tightened. The odor was from water which had settle in an unseen area of the basement due to the pump not being on. We were not told to not use any water feature at all in the basement only the toilet. Consequently I paid Able & Willing close to $300 to tell me a nut was loose and I was left with a mess to clean.
