Don't waste your time...this company is corrupt, top to bottom. Check out their licensing complaints with the state of va. Their lead plumber Dave threatened to rip my f...in head off. Because I gave him a taste of his own verbal abuse....unprofessional thug.....

Con man

I buy, remodel, and sell a lot of houses. I also have rentals. I know plumbing and what it costs. This guy wanted a credit card before work started which I can understand with all the people that I'm sure don't pay BUT that's not why this guy wants your credit card. He wants it so he can charge whatever he wants. He came out and snaked a pipe and charged $700! RotoRooter charges $250 and also sends in a camera. What a conman!

Extreme lateness, overly expensive, rudeness and just an overall bad experience! I can say I honestly made a mistake when calling the servicing plumber (Dave) about recent job he did on the tub faucet. It turns out the faucet placement was installed incorrectly before reinstalled the replacement, but at that point we had just got used to using it like it was before. So when it was actually put in the "right" way it was awkward to say the least. Instead of calmly explaining to me, he yelled and hung up on me! I found the owner's attitude wasn't much better. He was very cold and failed to even apologize for the incident, only promising that someone else would come out to look at it the next day (didn't happen)! Well there goes $338 I spent for a faucet repair that I probably could have got done cheaper by a more respectable establishment…NEVER AGAIN!

I wish I had read these reviews before calling Ron's Plumbing. I had the same horrible experience and was ripped off, over charged and on top of that, the workman caused more damage.

DO NOT USE RON'S Plumbing -- Asked for a quote on a Hot Water heater replacement over the phone, said he would match the Depot price. Shows up late and proceeds to jack up price stating he had to "bring up to code" several things. RIDICULOUS!! Added new vent collar, minor things and states it is $500. Are you kidding me! Proceeds to start yelling in the phone and arguing, keeps saying "give me the credit card so i can get paid". AVOID Ron's Plumbing! Deceptive, cheat, shady.

Avoid this company. We had a small leak in one of our upstairs bathrooms, and upon calling Ron's, we were told it was probably a small, simple job. We did not indicate it was an emergency, they simply offered to come over later that day. Their crew shows up, smoking, and proceeded to try to barge into our house still smoking, ashes blowing everywhere. The man appeared personally offended when we asked them politely to put out the cigarette. They then proceeded to try to demand a nearly $100 deposit for their work, said they needed to start cutting up pipes, and whatnot, and claimed they were giving us a break by not charging the $300 "emergency fee." We declined, and we didn't like their bullying attitude. They then proceeded to stomp out of our house, calling my father a "m*****ing a****** over an over again, because we "made" them stop another job and come over. We did no such thing. We kept hearing a******, m*****ing a******, in the street, in front of our neighbors, as they drove away. Disgusting, shocking, discriminatory, and unnecessary.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!! Do not use this crook. Quoted us 1100-1200 to replace a gas water heater with the exact same kind. He did so then presented us with a bill for 2100!!! Called him to question it as his web page says "Lowest price guaranteed" and he was VERY rude. And said "I am not walmart you cant present a coupon and I will beat the price". Crook, Crook, CROOK!!!!!

They are ridiculous and expens...

They are ridiculous and expensive not to mention exceptionally rude! I called for because the pipes in our house were backed up. I was told they would send someone out immediately and that they should be there soon. I asked how long it would take, since I had an appointment I had to be at in two hours, and his reply was not long, only a few minutes. It took the men an hour and a half to arrive and even then they sat in my driveway a few minutes just staring at each other and then me. Never a word of greating or even introduction, just walked in and stared at me, waiting for me to talk. Because they were so late getting there I had to leave only a few minutes later and left a roommate there to talk to them. The entire time the main guy was rude, snapping replies and just being all around disprespectful. When asked what clogged it his response was to "Quit flushing your tampons." No tact, not even an attempt at common civility. Then they went and charged me $400! Claiming it cost $75 to find that the clog was under the house, then $250 to snake it, then of course the $75 diagnostic charge (that most companies are willing to waive if you go through them for the work). Nope, money hungry Ron's Plumbing demands every little cent. When I called the owner for an explination on it he claimed he didn't know, just got the credit card number and cost. I read what the man had written and he goes, "Yeah, I guess that's right." I then went into being upset regarding their tardiness and he started spouting off on how he never promised a time and how they didnt' have a "damn helicopter" to get there. I questioned why it cost so much just for snake, when other companies have only charged me $200 for all the same thing, and even waived the diagnostic, his only response was a grunt. He remained hostile and unprofessional with me until I finally just hung up, unwilling to continue being disrespected.

Over all the this company is just unprofessional and ridiculously expensive! I will NEVER go through them again! In fact, I don't reccommend anyone even contemplate it!

I do not recommend using Ron..

I do not recommend using Ron’s Plumbing, wish I had read Dan72635’s post below. I called Ron’s for help with a water supply line which was leaking where the city meter connects up. On the phone I explained to Ron that I could feel water coming out of the side of the pipe just above the meter. He said they had a guy in my area and could take care of it, but I told him I had two questions first -1)What did he estimate (roughly) the cost would be and -2) would their guy have everything he needed to do such a repair, in the truck. Ron said it shouldn’t be more than $125 to $150 and that the repairman would have everything he needed with him. I was happy with those answers and asked him to send his guy out. The repairman arrived in about an hour and asked to borrow an extension cord as his wasn’t long enough. I brought the cord out for him and about 45 minutes later he came to the door and told me he needed to go to the store for parts. I was a little surprised, but the line was disconnected so I had little choice but to wait. He returned in an hour and after another 45 minutes he finished. After commenting to me that he “hated this part of the job” he presented me with the bill - $687. I felt like I was being robbed. I challenged it based on what Ron had told me, but after two calls to his supervisor and one call to Ron by me (only got his voicemail), they would only knock off $200, - not quite the amount they were charging me for a parts run to the store! I called Ron the next day and he claimed that he priced it thinking that it only needed a connection tightened (Ron must know that the city would have taken care of a loose meter connection for free). I pointed out that I had said I could feel water coming out of the side of the pipe, but he claimed I never said that. When I reminded him that he also said the repair guy would have everything he needed, he said “well, he didn’t”. He was argumentative and didn’t even try to work with me, despite the fact that I had covered these things with him beforehand. I was especially upset at having to pay the $225 an hour rate for the repairman to make a store run, and then pay $150 for the brass connector and piece of plastic pipe he bought! Those parts are less than $15 retail. Ron's Plumbing is gouging customers.

Do not use….No honor or inte...

Do not use….No honor or integrity with Ron’s Plumbing & Restoration Services. They quoted me $150 to $175 price for a simple main drain line snake out job that took the plumber less than one hour to complete. The job required no parts or digging. After the job was complete I was given a bill for $475 and when I reminded the owner, Ron, of our pricing conversation he called me a liar then insisted the job was much harder than described. I remained calm and polite the whole time; however, Ron became belligerent, claimed I was trying to price his jobs, called me a liar and said he knows how to handle people who don’t want to pay. This is the guy (Company) that gives plumbers a bad name. Avoid him and his company “Ron’s Plumbing & Restoration Services of 4240 Portsmouth Blvd. Suite A Chesapeake, Virginia 23321” at all cost. You can tell this pushy unprofessional has pulled this bait and switch act many times before.
