I had a horrible experience with U.S. Money Shops, located on Brainerd Rd. Chattanooga, TN. About two months ago, my boyfriend spent over $700 in their store. He bought a laptop, a PS3, and a diamond ring. The laptop didn't work and we brought it back, that was settled. The PS3 was over priced @ $219, but we didn't realize this until after we got it. (That would be our fault). The ring, however, now that's another issue all together. The ring was priced @ $399, but the manager gave it to us for $250. WOW! What a great deal, right? It turns out the ring was FAKE!! Yes, FAKE!! And you ask yourselves, "Now how does a respectful pawn shop and a respectful pawn broker, knowingly take someone's hard earned money and sell these people a FAKE diamond ring?" Easy. The lady that appraised the ring for me today, at a real jewelry store, showed me how this can be done. She used the same kind of diamond detector that U.S. Money Shops used and when she directly touched it to the diamonds, it did not make a sound. But, when she touched it on the gold, (very close to the so-called diamond) it would beep. It's a scam, BEWARE!! We went back in the store and wanted our money back or at least in-store credit and he would not do that for us. I asked him to at least take the ring back in pawn for $150. I thought we could at least get some of our money back. No, instead, he told me to stop crying, because my tears aren't affecting him, and then he wanted to call the police on me. My boyfriend told him, "that's probably what she's doing now; calling the police on you, because she is right, that is theft by deception." He admitted that the ring wasn't real diamonds and would only offer us $50 to pawn it to him. He claims that he told us when we bought it that the ring was a cubic zirconia. He is a LIAR and a THIEF! He said he is a Christian man, you decide.
