On Nov. 15, 2010 I ordered a Stihl BT45 earth auger and 3” earth auger bit from VA Tractor in Charlottesville, VA to plant 12,000 flower bulbs. It initially took 8 business days to receive the unit when I was told it would take 2-3. In the weeks following, the BT45 broke twice, each time rendering it useless. Virginia Tractor was dishonest in dealing with me, telling me for example, that I would get a whole new machine, but then only replacing the gearbox on the faulty one. Delivery of parts was slow as were service times. In fact, with all the machine malfunctions and service delays, the auger was only operational for 4 days out of the last month. 9000 bulbs remain unplanted and are now garbage as the ground is frozen and covered with snow. Throughout the entire ordeal I was misled both about when and how the problem would be resolved. The Stihl machine was clearly defective but it was Virginia Tractor's behavior in dealing with these defects that was unacceptable.
