These photographers are not for me...and let me tell you why....Photographic Elegance has great things to offer. Truly, they do. They take great pictures and the graphics are pretty cool. However, they are super expensive! So expensive, in fact, that you almost have to sell your first born in order to purchase their photos. My daughter's dance studio used PE for their dance pics this year. And listen, I'm no stranger to dance pictures. Last year my daughter was in 10 dances. This year she's doing 10 as well. I'm willing to spend anywhere between $200 - $400 to get individual shots and group pics of the 10 dances my daughter is in each year. I'm aware of how costly they can be. The cheapest packaged offered was $30 (2-5x7, 8 wallets). That's $15 p/photo sheet! The group photos are $16 p/group. So, I asked:

-Can you buy one package, then add ala carte items of different poses? NO, we don't offer that.

-Do you offer a photo CD? NO, we don't do CD's.

-Can I add an 8x10 if I buy the cheapest package? NO, you'll have to buy the package with an 8x10 ($34).

-Why are you guys so expensive? Well, we do graphics on the group photos.

-But there are no graphics on the individual photos, right? That's correct.

-You understand my daughter is in 10 dances, that's $300.00 just for individual pics? Well, you do get $10 off for each additional package you purchase after the first one.

Ultimately, if I had ordered the cheapest package available for individual photos plus her group photos I would have paid $370. And, I didn't get one single 8x10 to display on my wall. Or enough photos to distribute to my family, in-laws or close friends. And, who actually uses wallets these days? I ended up with a composite photo and one group photo for $170.00. I am really disappointed. For the last five years I've gotten individual photos of each costume my daughter has worn. This year, I have nothing!

A suggestion for Photographic Elegance: Offer a photo CD! I'd be willing to pay $150 for a photo CD with all my daughter's images on it. No photo paper costs, no ink costs, no cutting costs, no printing costs...just the purchase of the CD and the time it takes to drag and drop. I'm sure you'd make a killing. You ended up losing an extra $200 from me because what you offered wasn't worth the money.
