The Hearth and Patio store started out as The Chimney Shop in 1978. When the business outgrew its first location, they built a new store on Monroe Road. The name was changed to The Hearth and Patio as the store began offering outdoor furniture as a summer compliment to the winter-based fireplace product. Mildred Marze, an original employee of The Chimney Shop, and her husband Don Marze purchased the business in 1985. Their success was built on having a great product at a fair price, good service for our customers, and knowledgeable employees.Today's customers are still greeted by the famed cowbell hanging inside the front door. The company has grown; other family members have joined the staff to continue the dream of excellent products.
