Wanting to take my husband out...

Wanting to take my husband out for Veterans Day, we made reservations at Pan E Vino. Pan E Vino changed owners a little while back and the management/customer service is unbelievably terrible.

We showed up five minutes late for dinner at Pan E Vino at which point we waited five minutes behind another group before the manager could be bothered to meet us. He sat the group waiting in front of us after establishing that we had 830 reservations. While waiting for the manager to return, three young women walked in. Upon returning, the manager collected menus, pushed us out of the way, hugged the women, and seated these new comers right away.

Now, we had been waiting twenty minutes at the front of the restaurant for our reserved seats. Furious, we decided to leave after informing the manager that we had been waiting long enough and we did not appreciate being rudely bypassed by the a group of newcomers. We then walk out the restaurant. At this point, the manager stands at the door and starts yelling, ranting, and swearing at my husband "I'm going to F-you up!" He stands at the door screaming swear words, drunkenly slurring, and threatening to fight us as we were trying to walk away. A waitress had to call him back into the restaurant after he started loosening his tie.

One of my Charleston Favorites!

Although I do not go down town as often as I like, I go to Pan E Vino when I am down town. This is where I take my in laws when they are in town and my husband for special occasions. With a romantic atmosphere, tables inside as well as on the patio, and an authentic Italian menu, I have not been disappointed yet!

No bang...big buck

For my best friend's birthday, I ate at Pane E Vino. The first thing I noticed when we entered was the note at the bottom of the menu saying that they don't split checks. In a party of ten with a majority with only debit or credit cards, I knew it was going to be an issue. I guess because our waitress figured she'd get 18% gratuity for our large party, she slacked off terribly. We didn't get to order our food for an hour and then when the food finally arrived, my food was missing. I asked the waitress where my spaghetti was and without saying a word, she left to consult with the kitchen. She claimed they ran out of spaghetti noodles. I almost fell out of my chair later when we got our bill. For me and my fiance, our bill was $100. This was partially due to my fiance ordering a bottle of wine without asking the price, but still, the food was not worth it.
