Do not put your trust – or your silk garment – in the hands of this cleaners, which has locations under the same management in Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Southern Village. I wish I'd checked local reviews leaving my imported reversible silk jacket in their care – because silk garments appear to be their "Achilles Heel.”



In this case, the first cleaning attempt resulted in dye running and creating pink splotches on the silver print; the second try reduced the stains but not enough to make the jacket wearable. Finally, the garment’s third visit to their plant completely pulverized the fabric, leaving it with no sheen…shrank the blue reversible side…and crumpled the shoulder pads.



Counter staff at the Southern Village shop were sympathetic, courteous and shocked at the results. However, owner Karen Tomko proved dismissive and unyielding. Eventually capitulating that the silver fabric could not be restored, she just referred to her “policy” (not posted in stores) that work on foreign garments without fabric-care labels cannot be guaranteed. She refused to refund the cleaning fee, much less offer an apology or compensation for an expensive and sentimentally precious garment and my several wasted trips to the shop.



Total lack of concern and integrity! Beware of this place...its environmental sensitivity is questionable, and its work and customer service are horrible.
