Alexia refused to repierce me after my jewelry fell out since the bead of my barbell was not tight enough. She refuses to repierce me simply because I am in LA now and saw a different piercer briefly who said I need to wait to repierce and she now says if I want to be repierced I should only work with new piercer and even fly out to LA just to go back to the sketchy unsanitary piercing shop I walked into in Baton Rouge. Flying back to LA would probably cost me about $500. Very upset with Alexia and do not recommend her.

I called in to get some pricing information about a nose piercing. Upon answering the phone and asking my question, the representative responded saying "You just called and hung up on me". Very rude considering you are providing a service to the public. I briefly explained to her that I did not call prior to this and continued to ask my question among a few others to get clarity on the types of metal used as I have allergies. I think at this point she realized that I was sincerely looking into their services. I am extremely disappointed. Lost my business before I even visited the place.

Alexia is super awesome. I had my first piercing done by her. She was very professional and had answers to everything, I didn't have to ask her but one question. I'm convinced the process went by so calm and quickly because of her experience. She was also available through text whenever I have/had more questions. I recommend her for any piercing!

Friendly people in a relaxed atmosphere. James has over two decades tattooing in Memphis, Mobile, Pensacola, and Gainsville before opening his shop in Chapel Hill. He and Meghan are very talented artists; and the piercer, Alexia, are very professional.

Both James and Meghan have done wonderful work on me and I wouldn't go to another artist. The shop is clean and not intimidating and the staff is friendly and open. I've also had piercings done by their piercer, Alexia, and even took my teenage daughter to her because I was so impressed by the way she works. Great shop all the way around.

James did lilies on the left half of my back there years ago. It still looks as good as when it was first done. I get so many compliments! Clean, sterile, and a impressive portfolio. Thanks James!

I have had a lot of work done by both James and Meghan at Ascension Tattoo. They do fabulous work. Live the black and gray James did for a tribute ribbon and roses. Now he is working on a half-sleeve. Can't wait to sit in the chair again!! You guys ROCK!!!!

I have known James for several years now. I have always been impressed by his kindness and his ability to make a customer feel comfortable. James is an artist. He has a unique ability to take an initial idea and create a beautiful tattoo.

James (24 years tattooing) is very kind, can do portraits, gentle with the gun as well as Meghan, whom I was her Guinea pig at THT is extremely talented (Even did her own foot! Looks awesome!). I can not express enough about James, Meghan, and Alexia (With 15 years experience) that will treat each of you equally. I wouldn't think twice of ever going anywhere else where I see prejudice. Check for yourself! You'll be pleased.....

Ascension Tattoo is by far the best shop I have visited. The atmosphere is so relaxed and comfortable that it will your nerves right from the start. Both artists are very talented and professional, assuring you that all of the equipment is in fact sterile and ready for use on YOU. It is such a pleasure to go into somewhere and every single person working there is extremely friendly and happy to see you each time you visit. This is without a doubt the place that you should visit if you are in the area for ALL of your tattoo and piercing needs... you will not regret your decision.

I would like to impress upon you that Ascension Tattoo is not your standard cookie cutter "tattoo shop" of the times. It is a tattoo parlor. The modest sized shop harkens visually to a posh sultan's throne room rather than a dark dank pseudo biker dive. This translates the shop to be visually pleasing as well as an artistic wonderland of sculptures, paintings, and fascinating visual imagery. The music is as eclectic as the shop itself and helps add to the tranquil, dreamy environment. Immaculately clean and sterile with state of the art equipment blended seamlessly with old school charm and elegance.



Ascension Tattoo is more than just a shop though, they are family. They treat each other, and every one who walks thru their door with respect , patience and kindness.

James and Meghan are two of the most incredibly gifted artists I have personally ever known. They work one on one with every single customer to ensure that person leaves feeling happy, content, and with the best imagery available anywhere. It is refreshing to see this. All are treated with an easy-going respect and a light-hearted customer-service oriented attitude. Sometimes, you can even get a post- tattoo hug.



I receive so many compliments and inquiry's from strangers on the street over the work Ascension has put on my body, that I am almost considering carrying their business cards with me to just pass out whenever I am asked "Where did you get that done?"
