Carr Textile, established in 1973, is a converter, importer, distributor and wholesaler of cottons, polyesters and blended fabrics. The firm s in-stock programs comprise construction of various fabrics, including twill, chino, bull denim, canvas, hopsack, poplin, sheeting, printcloth, osnaburg and buckram. Its fabric is used by manufacturers of caps, apparel, aprons, bags, outerwear, emblems, and in industrial and automotive applications. The firm s capabilities include re-rolling, biasing, slitting, die cutting, sewing and plastic extrusion. Its in-house laboratory has the capability to perform a variety of tests on fabrics to evaluate performance characteristics, such as wet and dry crocking, perspiration, light fastness, tensile strength, stretch, shrinkage, weight and construction analysis. Carr Textile is headquartered in Fenton, and operates a more than 70,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Chaffee, Mo. It also stocks more than 2 million yards of fabric in over 10 warehouse shipping points in the United States and abroad.
