Provided by YP.comI rented through Kelley Property at Monarch Estates for over four years and just recently moved out only because I purchased a house. They have been very accommodating, affordable rent, always fixed any problems that would arise, kept the property maintained and clean and gave notice for repairs. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the complex and felt as though it was my first true home. They do a great job screening potential renters and I always felt safe at the property as well. I can never thank them enough for providing me a safe space where my neighbors felt like family.

Provided by YP.comThey are the worse place ever to rent your house... if they offer one for me for free I wouldn’t get it. They literally will steal the money of your application and tell you you are not approved or before you give them the deposit they will “rent “ the place you want for somebody else. Be aware.

Provided by YP.comI saw ads Kelley Property had on craigslist. The price was right so I decided to look. The listing was $245-$335 depending on your credit, no big deal. What they don't tell you is that water and heat are not included in that price. That’s another $89.00. When I get there I fill out an application and instantly told I don’t qualify for a 2bdr because I am single, despite the fact that my daughter stays with me on the weekends. When I fill out the application I hand the lady a letter from my current landlord of almost 7 YEARS stating that in those 7 years I've been late on my rent TWICE. 84 months 2 late payments. Anyway, I fill out the paperwork, hand her my recommendations, pay $79 to apply, then get a phone call 3 hours later telling me that I only qualify for a 1bdr, will need a co signer AND 3 MONTHS UP FRONT!
BOTTOM LINE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! and look at the dates on the positive reviews, they were writen by Kelley employees.

Provided by YP.comGreat all around we have no complaints.
If it wasn't because of moving out of state we would have stayed with Kelly property management. Great staff and properties.
Highly recommend for your next home to be through Kelly property!

Provided by YP.comI rented from them for nearly a year. I never had any problems with the property management and every time we had asked for a repair to be made it was always handled within 1-2 business days.
I would definitely rent from them again if im in the market to rent.

Provided by YP.comKelley Property gets a - 1000! These people are the worst. They pride themselves on being the best slumlords. From Ron Kelley himself to most of the employees they lie and steal from you. Whatever you do DONE RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! I am on disability and get paid on the 3rd of the month I asked if I could pay rent on the 3rd and not be charged late fees they said yes as long as I had an award letter from social security stating that. I took a copy of my letter and hand delivered it to the front desk. Then a year and half later I find out they have been charging me late fees. They said if I brought letter in going forward they won't charge me but could not take off the ones all ready charged! That's about $550 dollars which they wanted me to pay right away. I had a co-signer and she never received nothing from Kelley Property about any of this until they took me to small claims court.
When I moved out that place was better then when I moved in. But kept most of my deposit

Provided by YP.comI rented from them for nearly 2 years and they are absolutely awful. Good luck getting anything fixed at all. They also like to come into your apartment without the 24 hour warning, they cash post dated checks ahead of time, refuse to call the actual tenants if there is a cosigner and take as much as they possibly can upon move out and refuse to provide any proof of the work. Be wary of renting from them.

Provided by YP.comRon Kelley and his property management are the worst company I have ever dealt with. After 8 years of rental, with never a call to repair anything, they had the audacity to charge for the carpet. Granted, they prorated it 10% per annual, however, what they neglected to prorate was the USED condition of the carpet on move in. There should have been no charge for the carpet. But, they got their money because it was all legal, per “Iowa Code” even though the carpet was NOT new on move-in. This was done to a renter who had a pristine record after 8 years and paid no less than $57,600 to them over the years. Yes, you read that correctly, over $57 thousand dollars. Also, in another instance my family reported a pest problem which was NEVER remedied. When that family member HAD to leave the apartment they kept HALF the security deposit. This company is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with and I have lived in many cities. Yes, please remember the absolute worst. Do yourself, your bank account, and your physical well being a favor and never set foot on this company's premises. As you can see the address is> 2750 1st Ave NE,Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Never go there. If i could give negative stars I would.

Provided by YPmobileTHIS PLACE IS AWFUL! The management here was awful. I lived here for 2 years, and had the worst experience of my entire life. My heat would run in the summer, making my apartment over 100 degrees some days and that is with my air running. They took forever following through with maintenance problems. One time I had an emergency where my shower broke and was running full water that was scalding hot. It was a Saturday night and they had no emergency maintenance number. I called Ron Kelleys personal cell phone, and he proceeded to yell at me for having that number. And told me to let the scalding hot water rum until Monday until someone could fix it. Overall horrible experience. Also took very good care of my apartment and my dad owns a carpet company and had my carpets professionally cleaned and they proceeded to charge me a ridiculous price for cleaning then changing the carpets. Never get an apartment with these people.

Provided by YP.comI lived in their Aossey Lane apartments for over a year. While I lived there, I had absolutely zero problems. I had very limited interaction with management, but overall a pleasant experience. I moved out to a new property management company and when I moved out, I left the apartment in the same if not better condition than when I left. About a month after I moved out, I received a bill for their "Damages and Deductions". Here is verbatim what they sent me:
Carpet Materials (Livingroom) Less 10% Depreciation $ 599.12
Carpet Installation (Livingroom) $ 420.39
Cleaning Per Lease Agreement $ 93.75
Painting Per Lease Agreement $ 196.00
Amount Owed to Kelley Properties, Inc. $ 959.26
Now this may seem like a normal bill, right? Wrong. I was wrongly charged for their carpet service. Not only is this overpriced, but when I moved in, the carpet in the living room had not been replaced. There was a disgusting brown stain in the middle of the living room that I clearly notated on their walk through sheet. Other than that, the carpet was spotless. I decided that this stain wasn't a huge deal to me so I just placed furniture over it and made sure to document it on my sheet. Now I am being charged over a $1000 for it. I would gladly pay for the cleaning and paint service and call it even (and that is even with the apartment being spotless when I left) but Kelley went way too far. I'm not concerned about paying $900.00. The problem is that I know many people who still live there that are not equipped to pay that money. And quite frankly, Kelley does not deserve that money.

Provided by YPmobileThe first time I visited KPP I was quite surprised that everyone at the office acted like I was non-existent. Surely these people would be excited by potential tenants? My boyfriend and I found a place we liked and wanted to visit. We were thrown a set of keys and told to go check it out on our own. It seemed like a great deal, so I disregarded my first impression of them. We signed our lease in April 2014 and put down a $750 deposit but at this point, nothing had changed. Every time we had a question or a problem, it was like a three ring circus when we went into the office. No one who works there seemed to ever give us a straight answer, and the girl at the desk would hardly look us in the eye when we talked to her. In my time at this apartment, we had only needed maintenance once, and when they came while we were not home, they left our door unlocked.
We moved out of the apartment and out of the state at the end of Novemeber. I would like to note that up until this point, I had felt as though my experience with KPP was almost pleasant. We hadn't had many issues with our apartment, and although we didn't particularly care for the staff, the only time we really saw them was when we came in to pay our rent every month, on time. When we expressed our concern about leaving, we were left with no clue with what was going to happen. We were told once that we would be responsible for rent utilites through December, unless someone rented our apartment before December ended. December 3rd I'm getting a call from the electric company saying that KPP had put it back in their name. If this were the case, KPP was now renting our apartment and we should be receiving a check for the difference in days with the new tenants. I immediately called KPP to get answers and the woman at the desk responded to all of my questions with either a "yup" or a "no". At this point, I was even more confused. I asked for a call back when they knew what what was happening to our apartment, and I never heard back. December 29th, I get my deposit refund in the mail. If you could call it that. They squeezed out every possible cent they could from me and I hardly got half back. Over $60 for carpet cleaning, $120 for painting the walls... why? We never put anything on the walls or painted them! $120 for cleaning? We slaved for days to clean that place and left it in much better shape than when we came into it. In fact, when we moved in and did a walk through, I turned in a laundry list of disgusting things we found! Did I mention that both of us have personally witnessed this "cleaning lady" on the job? They charge a crazy hourly fee for this woman who will take a break in her car every 30 minutes on the clock. Oh, let's not forget the $30+ they charged me for a new towel bar. I never touched that towel bar, and anything wrong was a result of normal wear and tear, which should be their responsibility. Save yourself from the headaches. Run while you still can.

Provided by YPmobileI had gotten worried when i read a ton of reviews saying they used all of the deposit money and eveb charged some folks. But i eeceived my deposit the other day, and got back all but 100 bucks of my DOUBLE DEPOSIT. They charged me for carpet cleaning which was stated in my lease so i expected that, and two sets of blinds (which is understandable since my kids destroyed them). While they are not very good with upkeep on the apts... they do refund your deposit fairly if u do what os asked of you when moving out (cleaning, replacing lights, etc.).

Provided by YPmobileI rented from Kelly Property for 4 years and I've never had any problems with them. They even gave me all of my deposit back.

Provided by YP.comThis place manages nothing at all. If it was left to me, their license should be revoked for deceptive, abusive and discrimination charges.
They lure people in with a low rent and end up finding some illogical reasons not to give you a lease so they give you a month to month while requiring you to give them 30-60days notice before you move out. They raise your rent after a month or 2 and bank on the fact that you wouldn't want to move anytime soon considering how difficult it is in the 1st place.
2nd thing I notice is they profile their customers. Minorities are their primary targets for certain area because they are not used to the whole idea of suing or using the justice system.
They use very cheap materials for their apartments and don't repair unless you turn to harassing the, calling every day.
When you move out, you need to pray and hope for the miracle of getting your refund back. And the way they treat their renters once they move in! Lord! A Nazi camp I am sure was better run.

Provided by YP.comAs a former renter of Kelley property management I had to let you know what is real and what is fake. The following four previous posts are all exact. They are very ruthless rude conniving crooks they will take you for all that you've got. They will make you pay a deposit and when you lease is up don't think you'll be getting it back. They will make up excuses not to. Look! I'm not badmouthing them for no reason I'm just trying to save anyone considering renting from them a lot of headaches, grief , and lost money. And don't believe the so - called excellent reviews the Kelley staff wrote those, at least they could have made it a little more convincing that that, so please for your sanity do not rent from those guys unless you enjoy the company of bed bugs, roaches and rodents. you'll regret it as I have

Provided by YPmobileTerrible place to live. Rude management. The repairmen have no idea how to do their job. You are lucky if they fix problems in your home. Our duplex on o failed inspection due to dangerous electric issues. We are clean people yet there is a major issue with bugs in our house. There are no windows on the outside in back of house allowing heat and cold inside. Kelley refuses to fix these issues. Absolute nightmare.

Provided by YP.comDONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THESE PEOPLE. I have bad credit I will admit that upfront, however, I paid $79 for the application fee only to be called a few hrs later and told I don't qualify for the 2 bedroom I wanted due to my credit, but if I wanted a 1br I had to have a co-signer. My girlfriend called them to co-sign for me and we were again turned down. Just lost $79! A few days later I decided to call them up and offer them one years rent upfront so the bad credit wouldn't be an issue. Thats' around 3,000 cash in their pocket. They again said NO due to not having a co-signer and that they would have to charge me a huge deposit. This makes NO SENSE! If credit was the issue and they were worried about me not being able to pay rent why wouldn't they jump on the opportunity to rent out their apt with it paid in advance???????? I think they are just trying to scam people out of $79. Zero Stars and I'm seriously considering getting the news to investigate these people.

Provided by YP.comAll of the positive reviews are fabrications and falsehoods. Check yahoo and google for the truth. The representatives of the company are extremely rude and litigious. When you visit, note that the cameras are recording your every move so that they can sue you later.
