Terrible customer service. Wh...

Terrible customer service. When the order was placed, the guy made all sorts of mistakes on it that I had to correct - wrong size of tiles, wrong number of accent tiles, etc. Once the order was finally correct (after several additional phone calls), I called to verify that the order would be ready for pickup but he said he didn't have an order for me at all. I read him the invoice number on the receipt he gave me - he said that I wasn't reading the invoice number but was reading the product number (even though I was reading the line that said "invoice number" - he just treated me like I was stupid). When he finally found my order in the computer he hadn't even bothered to place it (several weeks after I made the original order). As it turns out, I still don't have all the tile that I paid for...and now he won't answer his phone or return any of my calls.

I have several more tiling jobs that I want to do in my place (and granite countertops that I want to put in) but I'll definitely be going somewhere else next time.

l live in Portland and am remodeling a vacation place in Palm Springs. When I ordered tile from Fifth Tile at the beginning of June, I told them I would need to pick the tile up the next time I was in town - I was told "no problem". I called a few days before I was supposed to arrive, and found that he hadn't picked up my order because part of it was on back order (he never contacted me to tell me this) and asked if I just wanted to cancel the order. I said no - he called the next day and said that the order was all completed and was fine, but that he probably wasn't going to open when I was going to be in town (even though he had told me before that it was fine to pick the tile up that day). He did arrange to meet me at the store (showed up a half hour late) and helped put the tile into my car. I asked where the bullnose tile was (which was part of my order) - he told me it was in one of the boxes. They weren't. He then had me follow him to his co-worker's house, where he said the tile was in the other work van (he called on the phone first). I followed him across town only to find his co-worker had left instead of waiting for us to arrive (five or ten minutes later). He said it was no problem, that the guy would drop the tile off at my condo that day. It never happened. I've since called and left three messages trying to figure out where the last part of the tile was, with no calls returned. I had to leave town with the tile job only partly done (after paying to fly down, paying for a tile saw rental, etc). The tile was prepaid but I can't even get a hold of the guy to figure out when I'll get the rest of my order, if at all.



I had considered buying granite from them, but I'd rather pay ten times the price somewhere else. The experience was not worth the hassle...the owner seems to be completely unprofessional and disorganized. He seems to be completely unconcerned with resolving my complaint!
