I'm so glad that I didn't listen to those years-old negative reviews and DID try this place out. I've been in at least 4-5 times and have NEVER had a bad customer service experience. My kids always pick out a variety of small things & it's always SO good! I recently tried the chocolate covered toffee-- Oh My God, the best ever toffee!

I took some of their dark chocolate items to my mom, a chocolate fanatic, and she said their dark chocolate was some of the best she's ever tasted. This little chocolate shops rocks!!

It has been years since I was in Chocolate Smiles but I do remember the previous owner and yes, she was a witch! She would ignore you, roll her eyes and sigh heavily if you were still making your decision, yell at you if you questioned her candy making abilities, and had an overall very nasty and hateful attitude. She only seemed to like people who hung out in her particular crowd or, should I say, lived within her particular income bracket. If you looked like you made less or more than she did, she was nasty!!!



What kept me going back are the chocolates themselves! Several friends are diabetic and she had a wonderful selection of sugar-free chocolates that they loved. I hope the new owner can appreciate her customers a little more than the last one. If she does, she will develop a very loyal customer base.



As for the potty incident mentioned earlier, small independent businesses are not required to have a public restroom. As a business owner myself, I wouldn't let you or your child into my back room either. Just because you may look clean and trustworthy doesn't mean you are and living in Cary doesn't mean you wash your hands afterward either!
