In a pinch on lunch hour the FORD dealer where I bought my car couldn't fix a leaky tire. Said I'd have to wait till someone got back from break to have it PLUGGED. I looked around at all the self praising tire and service banners hung everywhere and decided to use the NAV screen in my FLEX. A second later I asked that they open the door and I could drive out, turn left one block and be at Les Schwab. I showed them where the leak was and they said sure, took my info and keys, and I toodled around the showroom eating free popcorn and coffe, looking at and being helped with pricing on some tires for my Suburban, and reading the real news articles of Les Schwab in a frame on the back wall by the bathrooms. The wife, dogs, and my son sat around the table chatting with other customers in the air conditioned waiting area. Before I knew it they called me up to get my keys. I didn't even buy tires from them and he said "NO CHARGE". They took the wheel off the car, took the tire off the rim, put on an INSIDE patch, put it all back together balanced and mounted, and aired all my tires to 37psi for FREE!! Not even the place where my car came from could do that,... and I live 500+ miles away. I was stupefied all the way home and sent them a check for 20.00 to spend as they wish on their crew, what an operation,.. top notch!!

A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I TOOK MY F250 IN TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE. WHEN I PICKED IT UP THEY GAVE ME A QUOTE SAYING THAT THE ALIGNMENT BUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $100-$150, AND IF I DIDN'T HAVE THEM REPLACED IT WOULD STILL NEED TO BE ALIGNED AGAIN AND AGAIN EVERY FEW MILES.



I KNOW THIS TRUCK HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS AND NEEDS SOME WORK BUT THIS IS NO EXCUSE!! JUST BE UP FRONT AND HONEST WITH ME.



OK, SO A FEW DAYS LATER I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY ALIGNMENT BUSHINGS REPLACED. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 2 HRS.



WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN, I TOLD THE GREASE MONKEY THAT I HAD IT IN A WEEK AGO AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ALIGNMENT BUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE KIND OF GIGGLED (WHICH MADE ME FEEL LIKE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT CAUSE I'M A GIRL) AND WROTE IT UP AS AN ALIGNMENT WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF NEEDING BUSHINGS. I WROTE MY CELL NUMBER DOWN AND WENT TO HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE FOR THE TWO HRS. WHEN I CAME BACK AFTER 2 HRS AND NO PHONE CALL. I WAS TALKED TO BY ANOTHER GREASE MONKEY AND GIVEN ANOTHER ESTIMATE/QUOTE ($500+) FOR ALIGNMENT BUSHINGS, SPRINGS & SPRING BUSHINGS, ANOTHER ALIGNMENT, AND SOME OTHER STUFF THAT I DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT CAUSE I WAS SO MAD.



I ASKED IF THEY REPLACED THE BUSHINGS AND HE SAID THEY DIDN'T. THEN I ASKED WHY THEY ALIGNED IT WHEN THE DID NOT REPLACE THE BUSHINGS. HE SAID THAT THEY DIDN'T DO THAT EITHER. THEN I ASKED WHY THEY HAD ME BRING IT DOWN THERE. WAS TO JUST WAS TO WASTE MY TIME AND GAS? I ASKED IF I OWED ANY MONEY FOR TODAY HE SAID NO, SO I GRABED MY KEYS AND LEFT.



I CALLED A FEW HOURS LATER, AFTER I COOLED OFF, AND SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER. HE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT THEY WRITE UP THE REPLACEMENT OF ALIGNMENT BUSHINGS AS AN ALIGNMENT, AND HOW THE WHOLE FRONT END WORKS ON A FORD. I STOPPED HIM AND EXPLAINED THAT I AM NOT MECHANICALLY STUPID. I KNOW HOW THE FRONT END OF A TRUCK WORKS.

THEN I ASKED WHY THEY WOULD WRITE IT UP AS AN ALIGNMENT WHEN THAT IS NOT WHAT I ASKED TO HAVE DONE. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD LOOK INTO THE INCIDENT AND GET BACK TO ME.



I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THEM...
