Oscom Communications is a local independent wireless service provider serving the Hudson Valley since 1987. I would like to thank our customers that have supported us over the years.  Oscom is a local Sprint co-branded dealer and service center. We provide the personalized service not offered by corporate establishments.   We are committed to provide better service, including one hour repair or replacement of phones, selling equipment that fit your needs, as well as educating our customer on all the (sometimes confusing!) features.  Oscom’s customer service is not based on an 800 number.   We are local and we offer face to face contact to solve problems.      Over the past two years smartphones have becoming the preferred device for communications.  Now there are more smartphone choices then ever, Blackberry, Droid, Iphone Palm and Windows are all devices that have different operating systems.   Digital wireless communications is changing rapidly, and Oscom is here to help give a more educated decision should you want to use the newer technology.   Our expertise has been focused on providing a broad range of wireless communication including cellular phone service,  Wireless Internet Broadband Service from Sprint. Oscom is an authorized dealer for Freedom IQ a Hosted Internet Phone system for business.  Hosted PBX technologies are rapidly becoming main stream to save you money and can connect to your smartphone. Just like smartphones this service is becoming widely accepted by small business. Oscom is a member of  Putnam County Independent Business Alliance, an organization  whose goal is to educate the community in the importance of shopping locally.  Local independent business gives the most back to the community versus large corporations whose headquarters are out of state.  Local non-profit organizations receive a large portion of  fundraising with the help of local business, while major multi-national corporations that compete with local business contribute little or nothing.   Less than 13 cents of a dollar spent at these mega-corporations remains in our community.  Nothing remains if purchases are made over the internet.  Compared to more than 45 cents of a dollar spent at locally owned businesses.  More money re-circulates our community providing a better business environment, more jobs, as well as helping to keep taxes down.   Sometimes it is hard to compete on price alone, but our desire to maintain a community based economy is to provide our customers with the best local service.  This gives us a competitive edge against mega-corporations.  We know our customers and want to provide the best service to them.  After all, they're  our neighbors!
