in my initial review it appears i only gave one star for the Expertise category while giving five stars for everything else. Only giving one star for Expertise was an oversight as I meant to give five stars for all categories as is deserved. I'm providing this followup review because I tried but was unable to edit my initial review. Very sorry about the mishap.

We feel so lucky to have found Vernie to care for our fur babies. We have 2 Australian Laboradoodles - 23 and 35 lbs - who could not be happier to spend time with Vernie and the other dogs being cared for during their stay. She walks them 3 times a day, brings them on field trips to the dog park and reinforces good manners and obedience. She is dependable and goes above and beyond to accommodate her client’s needs. I never worry about Bailey and Bruiser when they are with Vernie as I know that they are being well cared for and above all else - loved. Thank you, Vernie, for all that you do!

Our little Boston Terrier is 13 years old and very particular about dog kennels, dog walkers, and dog boarding facilities. In a nutshell, our little guy is very weird! We knew we found a gem in Pacific Coast Pet Care when we met Vernie. She is intuitive to his behaviors, informative about dog care, takes him to the park each day, and most importantly, our dog loves her. We can tell by the way he wags his little tail! We have trusted Pacific Coast for almost 2 years for a number of business trips and vacations. As tough as it is to leave our little pal, we know he is in great hands. Vernie is the reason we can relax on vacation!

I appreciate that Vernie takes the time to interact with my dog. Lucia loves going for walks and playing fetch at the dog park with Vernie's pack. Leaving a pet is difficult but if you take the time to get to know Vernie and watch her in action, you know she is not only exercising and feeding them but also nurturing them. When I drop Lucia off, she drags me to Vernie's gate. It makes me feel great that she is happy and excited and is in such capable hands while we are gone. Thank you!

Great place for your dog to go on vacation while you go on vacation. Our Bichon enjoys the dog park and the company at Pacific Coast Pet Care. Vernie is excellent!

I met Vernie last summer while taking my dog, Sandy, to a local dog park. I ran into her and her adorable pack of small dogs 2-3 times before I actually introduced myself. I observed the way she interacted and played with the dogs, throwing ball after ball for her pups. All of her doggies seemed happy and healthy. One day I asked Vernie if it was ok for my Sandy to play with her pack. Sandy immediately clicked with all of the dogs Vernie had that day, and I immediately liked Vernie!!

Due to a family situation I am traveling about every 2-3 months. My husband’s work schedule involves 12 hour shifts, so he is away from home 13-14 hrs on the days he is working. Vernie has helped us out on these occasions when I’m out of town. She has been so flexible in allowing my husband to drop off Sandy before he goes into work, and then pick her up late at night. Vernie has even allowed Sandy to spend the night at her house on super short notice, when my husband got a late unexpected flight. It’s also so convenient that Vernie’s house is right on the way to the airport where my husband works!!

Sandy always comes home from Vernie’s happy and clean. I know that Vernie either takes her dogs on a long walk or takes them to the dog park for exercise every day. I’ve even met her at the dog park recently, just so Sandy could play with her buddies!!

I highly recommend Vernie. She is competent, knows dog behavior, and is selective about new dogs coming into “her pack”. She has been so flexible and accommodating working with our schedules. I truly appreciate that she specializes in small dogs, so I know my Sandy, at 17 pounds, fits right in!! Thank you, Vernie, for always being so willing to help us out!!! You are the Best!!

I came in from out of town and last minute needed someone to watch my service dog panda. I was referred to Vernie and my expierience with her was a nothing but amazing! She was wonderful and I felt confident she was would take care of my 6 mos old bishu which she did above and beyond! She was professional and a pure delight! I would recommend her services highly! Weekend at Vernies for my two older chihuahuas and they had the best time!
I was impressed by the quick and easy communication with Vernie, she made everything from checking in my dogs to finding her place super easy.

Once the chi's were on their vacation, I started mine and loved the daily updates by text with pictures and videos.
Vernie knows her stuff and is a total animal lover.

The wah-wahs came back super happy and healthy. Her 2 mile walks she takes the dogs on helped my slightly bigger chihuahua look healthier and my anxiety filled chihuahua had no problems at all, even being walked in a stroller by Vernie.

There was a small pack of dogs there, cats, and everyone got along. It was fantastic.

I can not say enough about Pacific Coast Pet Care! When we adopted our dog he had never been socialized or trained properly. So we brought him to Pacific Coast Pet Care twice a week. Vernie has done a tremendous job both educating us and helping our dog to become a happy member of a pack. I have total confidence in Vernie and highly recommend Pacific Coast Pet Care! I am so grateful that we were referred to this business.

Last year my neighbor could no longer take care of my cat when I would infrequently be away from home. I discovered Pacific Coast Pet Care and Vernie. Since I'm an overprotective Kitty Mom, Vernie convinced me that everything would be fine. After a short time discussing my little girl needs, she was sitting in Vernie's lap completely at ease. That was enough to convince me that Vernie with Pacific Coast Pet Care was a perfect fit. I never have a worry now when I travel and I feel blessed to have found Vernie.

I found myself in an urgent situation where I had to unexpectedly travel but had no one to watch my four month old puppy in my home. In 20 years I have never boarded a dog because I didn't trust they would be taken care of the way I believe they should. Vernie stepped in to save the day and was amazing - I had only one day's notice before leaving and she worked with us to make sure Jordy was comfortable and happy in her environment. Vernie and her pack are a calming influence on the dogs in her care for sure... but almost even more so for me! She stayed in close touch and kept me posted throughout the five day trip and brought my anxiety down from a 10 to a 0! When I returned my puppy was happy, healthy, better behaved on a leash and genuinely had improved his manners...which I credit solely to Vernie's commitment to providing a loving and stable safe place. That experience was two months ago and I've been using her for daycare intermittently ever since.

I needed doggie day care for my older non neutered chihuahua the end of March. Vernie was fabulous and so reassuring to me as I had never boarded my Ralphie. Ralph was calm and happy in her presence. I recommend Vernie, she is so comforting and compassionate about animals and will take excellent care of your fur baby.

We have had Vernie, from Pacific Coast Pet Care, take care of our two dogs while out of town or on vacations, for 5 years now. Vernie, who owns the business is a great pack leader. Our dogs always come back home balanced and well cared for. One of our dogs has to take medications and Vernie handles that with ease. She goes on rigorous daily walks with the dogs and I can tell because they come home and settle in for a long nap. If you are nervous (like I was) about letting someone else care for your "baby" I promise this is the right person for the job. She even sent me video footage the first couple times I took them to her. That really put me at ease so I could enjoy my vacation. Now, while on trips, I don't worry about them at all. Highly recommend Pacific Coast Pet Care.

Vernie has been taking care of our precious kitty for a couple of years now and we can’t say enough about the dedicated care she gives to our girl . Vernie messages us every day on how our kitty is doing and frankly the last time we went away for a few days, our girl didn’t seem to miss us at all - This was a first. We would not hesitate one second to recommend Pacific Coast Pet Care. Vernie is the BEST.

Vernies the best. Our Davey goes to PCPC 3 days a week and looks forward to going the other 4. Vernie gives him exercise, friendship with other dogs and lots of love. Our little guy is a rescue and very special and we trust Vernie completely. We highly recommend Vernie both as a person and as our dogs best friend

What a blessing to have found Vernie with Pacific Coast Petcare, As we all know finding a person we can truly trust and depend on and has a LARGE HEART to love our furry babies when we are away is a BIG ORDER. Fortunately I met Vernie and we immediately connected with our mutual love of dogs and cats and knew I wanted her to take care of my dog, DUDLEY MOORE the next time we went away, She went over and beyond with my dog, working with his anxiety riding in cars and his sociality with other dogs. I think he had sooooo much fun with her that he really had to think about returning home to me. I even heard he made his way into her BED! So she may be a little bit of a push-over but my guy is pretty charming! Overall I give Vernie an above average rating and review and feel very blessed and relieved to have found her,

Vernie was recommended to me by another service and it was hard for me go switch over after all the years but after meeting her there was no hesitation. Vernie has been a true blessing in my life. Hands down one of the best services I've used for cat sitting. She is truly amazing. I would recommend Vernie to anyone and everyone. Be like me, do not hesistate to contact her!!

We rescued our Sophie 9 months ago. She quickly became the most important thing in our lives. When we realized we were going to have to board her for a couple of trips, I panicked. How could we leave her in a kennel? She was in a boarding kennel for several months before we rescued her. Then we heard about Vernie who boards pets in her home. She is outstanding with animals. We've left Sophie for a few overnights with her, and Sophie came home happy and healthy. We are leaving for a family wedding next month. We have no doubts or concerns, because we know Sophie will have a good time with her doggie buddies in a home environment.

My dog just turned three and has been with Vernie almost daily since she was 6 months old. I can't say enough good things about Vernie, who truly loves her four legged customers - while at the same time, teaching them great manners and correcting behavioral issues. She is kind and patient and I trust her completely!
